We need to end the native reservations. They are holding America back!

We are meant to be a beautiful and diverse melting pot.

reservations are like zoos and museums to preserve a culture that is outdated.


Native Americans are no different than anyone else and most want equality. We must abolish reservations . The reservations and special treatment of natives makes them my least favorite minority.

 

People are not all equal. Why would you want to wipe out the last trace of their cultural heritage? No one is forcing them to live on reservations.

Reservations, and the legal structure surrounding them, are treaty obligations, so I don't think they are going anywhere.

 

Do the native Americans use gas in their vehicles and small machinery? Most pipelines I've seen are cleaner than the reservations.

 

Imagine if there were reservations for any other group it would be called racist…

False, they are honored treaty agreements and Native Americans are not held hostage on reservations.

Any government that can't trust its citizens with arms cannot be trusted to have arms itself. If the Indians would have been better armed back in the day, they would never have been answering to the government.... Or become a conquered people.

There is a good percentage of black people that do like to self-segregate their businesses and organizations and neighborhoods.... But I don't believe white people are allowed to do that.

Imagine if we had something called The White entertainment television station..

 

black people are not allowed to do that either if it's forced

self-segregation or white flight, etc are not crimes, the crime comes when you discriminate, deny someone the right to live there, work there, etc....

They were separate political entities and were treated as such. Why is this such an issue for you? Do you live near some reservations and have issues with them?

 

The thing is, they would take it. I know on this forum there have been threads on at least two separate attempts to establish a black only town. If it was made easier by ceding them specific property, I'm sure they would go for it.

 

Um, there are legally binding treaties the USA gov't wrote and had the Natives sign as part of taking much of the land they roamed.
Those Reservations are sovereign nations within the USA. They have their own form of gov't on their lands and the USA gov't has no control over those signed treaty lands.
