Here's reality: The American healthcare industry does not operate for profit, it operates under the principle of "the greatest good for all", altruism. There is only one social entity with the power necessary to enforce that ideal, governments--and that is what runs the American healthcare system.

And what does the Government seek more than power? Money--to buy as many votes as possible to retain its power. To achieve this ideal, the government seeks to keep costs cheap. It is always concerned most with the latest poll of the moment, not the "Tomorrows" of visionaries. So it cuts costs in favor of the moment by selling out the promises of tomorrow. (For the government, there is no "tomorrow", only the "now", as evident by the latest 2 trillion dollar theft from our great-grandchildren.)

One aspect of this " government cost-cutting" mentality in healthcare is the mess we have today. Here the government set the standards for the number of rooms and beds, how much staff, how much equipment, what kind of equipment, and on, and on, and on, with regulations upon regulations upon regulations, until the motive of today's healthcare has become not to serve the patient, but to appease the bureaucrat, and get politicians re-elected. And what we end up with is this slow-moving bureaucratic response when what is called for is the efficiency, skill, profit-seeking, and long-range view of the Capitalist mind--you don't make money selling out your "tomorrows", today.

And why would the Capitalists save us? The obvious--there is so much opportunity to make fortunes off this virus they could double their profits. (Which, by the way, would exponentially raise our own standard of living.)

But what do we choose? The self-annihilation of Jesus's altruism (Lockdown, our "cross to bear"), and the righteous hatred of anyone trying to make a buck-- even though by their making that "buck" we, the citizens, in desperate need of help, get what we want in our wonderfully selfish hands, instead of the empty promises we are receiving now from the government's bureaucrats and sycophants, and their handlers, the politicians.

And what are the politicians offering us? Our great-grandchildren's lives as slaves to ease the misery they created, and the take over of our lives, our industries, and our health

And now you know, who could save us, the capitalists--all that is required is that we embrace "body and soul" as our savior, not Jesus, but Capitalism, i.e. "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

And now you know who will save us--no one, we have imprisoned John Galt.

Ayn Rand: "America’s abundance was not created by public sacrifices to “the common good,” but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America’s industrialization. They gave the people better jobs, higher wages, and cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance—and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way."--http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/america.html
