http://www.americantowns.com/vt/rut...ities-and-parades-in-rutland-county-vt-329870 Again, I ask.. what does that 4th mean to you? Cheers from jm
It means a day off of work, drinking beer and cooking out with family, remembering the day we decided to form our own system of government.
To me it's a time to remember when the country actively stood against oppression without there being idiotic partisan dogma tied to it.
A time to reflect on what makes America great, and spend time with friends and family. Tomorrow will be interesting as there will be several brits there, and Im setting up a friendly shooting match while the burgers are cooking.
Independence from oppressive central government. A celebration of the acknowledgement and protection of the Natural Rights that preexist government. Astonishingly, a certain ideological cohort in this country are doing their best to bring us full circle.
Its a day to be thankful for our independence and how its a never ending battle to stay free. Especially now with the enemy from within.
People like you who wish to fundamentally change our country from a republic to a socialist government where people can no longer be independent but dependent on government..
The Fourth Amendment means: It means socialists and other oppressive people need to have a warrant or probable cause to go through my private property. Redistribute your own income, not mine. The 4th of July means America 1st. No other nation has greater freedoms, at least when democrats don't run your state.
I don't want to change this country from a constitutional republic to anything other than what it currently is. How do you come up with this ****? Let me guess, this is what crackpot radio, wingnut websites and faux news fills your head with, right?
I celebrate being able to protect my family and the freedom to not buy insurace that I don't need. I celebrate enjoying the fruits of my labors in a capitalist economy. I celebrate living on a sovereign nation with secure borders and and laws applied equally to all legally within her borders. Invaders can suck an egg.
To me the 4th represents what many countries refuse to do: Stand up and make sacrifices by fighting against what you don't like. If we lost people fighting for our sovereignty, then why should people from other countries who refuse to fight for theirs essentially get a free ride off the death and pain of our founders? It's funny how people never let us forget the sins of this great country, like slavery and how people are somehow still the victims of it, but they don't recognize the determination, will and sacrifice of the people who made this a free country to begin with. These days far too many people aren't willing to do what it takes to change their countries oppression and corruption, instead they flee to this country almost guaranteeing their home country never changes. Worse yet, those very people, especially Mexicans, will run from a country that has long abandoned them all while maintaining a strong allegiance to it. It's actually insulting.
