A drought drying up European farms will drive up the price of meat, milk and cheese even more, putting more pressure on consumers as everything else in the grocery department rises in price.
Exhausting summer heat dries up pastures and reduces the yield of grain intended for feeding herds of animals. British cattle and sheep farmers use up winter feed stocks in the height of summer. Cornfields in France are in the worst condition in a decade and are withering elsewhere, exacerbating a coming shortage of livestock feed.
Extreme weather exacerbates the hardships already facing farmers in the European Union, the largest exporter of pork and cheese. Animal farmers are struggling with rising grain and energy prices, as well as labor shortages and disease outbreaks. This led to a reduction in livestock and an increase in meat prices in the EU in June by about 12% compared to last year - the biggest jump on record....

And at the same time .... Russia was predicted a record harvest ...
According to the forecast of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies , the grain harvest in Russia in 2022 will be a record one and will amount to about 145 million tons.
For comparison, the grain harvest in Russia in 2021 amounted to 121.3 million tons....

However .... European idiotic leaders (for whom you voted) imposed sanctions against Russia.
By the way, Russia still has a lot of oil, gas, electricity ... and everything you can think of.
But, sanctions...Let Europe die and thus, will annoy Putin..

My dear if not one cow or sheep gave not one drop of Milk to make cheese, we could survive for years on the cheeses stocked all over France in cool storage.
We have préserved hams, sausages and conserved meats to last for years.
    No one needs Russia.

I can't believe there are people who support and promote Putin. It's a good thing they do it for free, because he can't afford to pay them.

    Russia, Russia, Russia.

Enjoy your sanctions. No, you won't troll your way out of them.

    For Russians, sanctions are great!
Think for yourself. For example, McDonald's left, the Russians began to develop their business. Louis Vuitton, Chanel and a number of clothing manufacturers left - in Russia there is a boom in the opening of new enterprises in the production of shoes, clothing and other things of the kind. ...etc.
Sanctions freed the market. And it’s great for Russians - production growth, wage growth ... I looked at the statistics - hundreds of enterprises open daily in Russia in various sectors of the economy - from the production of software and all kinds of computer goods, to machine tool building and shipbuilding. A breakthrough in the aviation industry and the automotive industry of Russia. And it's all thanks to the sanctions.

In that case, why is Macron whining? He tired Putin with his whining and calls. Let him eat his cheese and frogs. ...However, the frogs may have left - the drought.

France has à long history of preserving all kinds of meat in all kinds of ways from slow cooking and storing it in its own fat, called confit , to preserving in salt like jambon de Bayonne to sausage that can be kept for years.
And no it isn't just for émergences. These are eaten every day and are delucious.
This occurs all over Europe BTW.
You really should know à bit about Europe before you criticise it, instead of grasping some headlines and working it.

Sanctions have been a huge bust for the West .. and US hegemony in Particular. Sanctions benefited Russia .. Putin Paid for the war just on extra profits due to the price of oil going up .. gonna be a very good year for Grain.

This move away from globalism .. a good thing in the long term .. and world is moving in this direction .. US trying to bring manufacturing back home .. and so on. Protectionism in the short to medium term - gonna cause some economic pain..

Are you in close contact with Putin to know how Putin felt about Macron?
    TBH I wouldn't be surprised.

Almost the entire planet supports Putin. The Chinese, Pakistanis and Indians are already half the world's population. But there is still the whole of Africa, Latin America, the countries of Asia, including Europe (for example, the Serbs)
The miserable minority of bankrupts - do not support Putin.

Putin is a cultured person, so he treats all the leaders of countries evenly and respectfully. (Unlike the savages in the leadership of European countries)
If we talk about Macron, then he lost face, as the Japanese say. Macron published recordings of his conversations with Putin - it's a infamy. Such a person is no longer trustworthy. And this act speaks of the meanness and insignificance of Macron.
Never in the history of diplomacy are the negotiations of the parties published for a wide range. Even if the parties are open enemies. There is no trust in the future - there is nothing to talk about with such a nonentity.

    1. Having so much food is political, economic and military security. You didn't know about it?
    2. Surplus Russians sell to Asia, Africa, Latin America. Many buyers for Russian food.
(By the way, Europe was also a consumer of certain types of agricultural products from Russia.)
    3. Food supply is an economic and political lever. Just like energy supplies (look at Europe today in the context of energy supplies)
    There are also 4, 5, 6....etc.

Agree, European idiotic leaders! Why they protest Russian attack on Ukraine? In 1938 Europe allowed Hittler to take Czechoslovakia and Europe had peace of our time!
To save peace let Putin to take Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia!

There is a perfectly correct act in à world of freedom of information to published what your head of state is doing.
A shame you aren't familiar with this. No wonder you keep getting things so wrong.
The idea that Europeans will "run out" of ducks, geese, chickens, cows and sheep is à fantasy. Europe also grows it's own grain, grass and céréales
    No one needs Russia.

Food can be stored in various ways for a very long time.
Tinned goods last for at least 7 years for example. Other processes last even longer.

Is there a drought? In the UK we’ve just had two weeks of hot weather, not surprising as it’s summer. Last night we had six hours of solid heavy rain with reports of flooding in some areas. That’s also not surprising after periods of hot weather.

As the media and politicians look around for someone to blame for the shortage of oil which pushes up supply chain costs and inflation, isn’t the reason because our stupid politicians just sanctioned Russia from suplying us with oil, rather than try to find excuses with droughts? What we’re going through now and will worsen in the coming months leading to winter is entirely self-inflicted.
