What exactly does Israel need in the way of 'aid'?

My position is that we not provide either side with anything but humanitarian aid. I disagree with Biden here. I am hoping proponents of a military aid package to Israel flying through Congress, can tell me what should be in that package. Israel seems to be doing pretty well in the killing and invading department these days. Certainly the buildings are collapsing and their troops appear to do whatever they want. What do we want them to be able to do better or faster, and what shall we hand over to Netanyahu to make his war go smoother ?

One thing they need is ammunition for their IRON DOME system to shoot down the rockets that Hamas and Hezbollah keep firing at Israel. Purely defensive.

It remains to be seen if it clears the Senate and Biden reportedly is preparing to slow down aid deliveries to pressure Israel to turn the heat down on the conflict.

Why would I want to fund that? Palestine does not have a 'purely defensive' Iron Dome system at all. I don't much care if Israel has an effective one.

So, in your mind dead Israelis are ok but dead Palestinians are not?

No. We have already established that dead Palestinians are fine. That is this invasion's primary and soul accomplishment and Israel continues to kill very effectively and they use their share of rocketfire to kill. I am not in favor of The US providing one side with the wherewithal to protect themselves from the other sides rockets. Let Israel figure out its own Iron Dome security problem.

Is there anything other than those widgets I mentioned above thread, and humanitarian aid that I should want my country to provide Israel? Nobody is providing a very compelling case for military aide here.

~ We are supposed to be deaf, dumb and blind listening to our illustrious warmongering politicos because they and the media tell us so. Israel good genocide, Gaza bad genocide. The USA taxpayers should be delighted that 3.5 BILLION of their money goes to Israel each year.
This entire debacle certainly opened many eyes and made Israel just another suspicious character in the middle-east .
The International Court of Justice is hearing evidence of war crimes against Israel and soon will hand down a decision. This will likely be ignored by western "news" media .
Joe Biden’s war campaign money laundry marching onwards ...

That points to the Biden administration's first mistake. Israel had a long history of excessive zeal, excessive force. The administration's rhetoric after the attack should never have included promises for aide in the first place without preconditions. I get the need to support Israel's right to respond and defend itself. I get that Israel has no duty to ask anyone's permission to go after Hamas. Israel was entirely supportive of our right to enter Afghanistan and go after Bin Laden and Al Queda. But those diplomatic 'strings' regarding guardrails protecting Palestinian innocents should have been tied to any aide package from the first communication to Israel. Washington DC looked like a bunch of high schoolers watching and egging on the school bully, while he beats a disabled kid so bad the kid needs an ambulance.

Israel was drinking and bathing in bloodlust fed by the viciousness of the terror attack. I know this was entirely predictable, because I predicted this mess after I heard Biden's first remarks.

Well, in fairness, at that point early on nobody really saw how indiscriminately Israel was attacking civilian targets, at least saw it from third party reporting. Gaza had been under a no foreign reporters lockdown for quite while before this so it delayed credible information getting out to the masses. Fortunately, cooler heads are prevailing in the longer run. I have no problem with the US supplying as many patriots as are needed to keep the iron dome operating, but beyond that, we really do need to at least try to show some leadership by cutting off the offensive weaponry and supplies.

Hamas uses rape as a weapon. Stopping them with more conventional weapons is a good thing.

So the only method of warfare that should be entered into is nuclear war? No rifles, no hand grenades, nothing PRECISION? Just kill MILLIONS and make whole nations unlivable? THAT is your solution?

I saw how indiscriminately they would attack targets. That's because they have a long history of treating Palestinians as though they were a swarm of locusts destroying in their garden of Eden.

"US supplying as many patriots as are needed to keep the iron dome operating"

Patriots have nothing to do with Iron Dome. Patriots are designed to knock down high altitude targets at relatively long ranges. Its for shooting incoming missiles and aircraft.

Iron Dome is designed to shoot down much shorter range threats. Indeed, the American version of Iron Dome is called C-RAM (Counter-Rocket, Artillery, Mortar). Iron Dome and C-RAM use the shorter range, lower altitude "Tamir Missile" (Israeli made) or its American brother, the Raytheon made "Skyhunter Missile".

Israel is at war. We are their ally. We help allies at war. Israel has done a lot for us defense-wise. We need to stand by them.

We have other allies and too many obligations. Their debt to gdp is 67% ours is 123%.
We won't be around to help anyone, including our own children, if we keep pretending we have to help everyone even when they are perfectly capable of helping themselves.

I agree with that sentiment. We sure don't need to be spending billions protecting Ukraine's borders while leaving our own wide open. Ukraine isn't even an ally.

You mean deaths that weren't Jewish, whose deaths you support along with using rapes as a political tactic as well as murdering hostages.

LOL!!! You see how incoherent and intellectually dishonest that sentence of yours is! How often do you use that sentence and how many topics? It has no actual meaning or relevance. You have to the work to rebut a post you dislike. You can't get away with saying nothing with a lot of syllables to sound impressive - unless I can too!

You must in tears this morning; your heroes the Iranian vermin failed to do much against Israel. It's sad Tehran isn't smoking ruin, though. Hopefully it will be soon, preferably while you're visiting there.
