That seems really, really wrong to me. I'm on a BUNCH of boards. I come and go. I'm on 3 boards that are Republican Only. Lots of Tea Partiers and people who think it's great.
I'm on two Dem Only boards. Not one person supports the Tea Party. They all hate it. ALL of them. With a vengeance.

I think the "There are plenty of Dem Tea Partiers!" is something you will likely hear from Conservatives and Republicans who are trying to make the TP look better balanced.

The Tea Party represents what the Republican party is supposed to represent. What it used to represent back when it had a spine. Traditional American values.

The Republican party today is full of mealy-mouthed, pencil-neck cowards who are too afraid of what people think of them to stand up for what they believe in. They're too worried about political correctness. The Tea Party is a response to both that and the increasing size and scope of the Democratic party's idea of government. The people were tired of having nobody that accurately represented their views so they empowered themselves with a voice.

What is the tea party? Here is what it seems to be.

A group of people that once claimed all they care about was fiscal responsibility and reduction of taxes on a bipartisan level, but whop openly espouse uber right wing christian nonsense and complete government enforcement of morality, tea party version of course.

It's members inhabit political forums and seeming have no grasp of current events, recent American history, nor do they actually follow the news. All information is from right wing radio.

Their favorite pastimes include such notable intellectual endeavors such as incorrectly using the term "socialist and complaining about the size of Michelle Obama's ass.

They refuse to acknowledge that the size of the military needs to be reduced and seemingly place blame for everything that ever happened in recorded history on Barney Frank.

You can spot them by their constant use of the word "*******" and admonishing others to speak in a civil manner.

    Insult duly noted.

Also noted is the solicitation of opinions, then the outrage when those opinions are actually expressed.

The TEA party members are citizens who come together with one voice, Government works for the people, not the other way around. Think of them as the silent majority, silent no more. There are millions from all walks of life, from all over the country, without a leader to define us. We think people are better at deciding their future than government! We actually care about of future generations, and respect the sacrifices made by those in the past.

Thanks for that. So there are a few Dems in the TP but they are the rare exception and not the rule.

That makes sense. The positions the Tea Party endorses seem to be diametrically opposed to that of most Dems.

Thanks Bill Maher. You should really try to think for yourself once in a while, instead of regurgitating crap you hear on comedy shows.

Really? Because I thought the mainstream republican party was morphing into leftist multicultural views with rightist economic views in favor of cutting benefits and wages to workers. Just the opposite from what you said.

It would seem to me that the vast majority of Democrats that associate with the Tea Party are "Blue Dogs" at the least. Obama is just not as liberal as some make him out to be.

Awryly, for someone who has never met an American in real life, never even been to America and claims to hate it...you sure do have a strange obsession with America.

    why??

have you discussed your obsession with your therapist?

From what I have gathered this might sum it up the best. Correct me if I'm wrong. The Tea Party seems like a bunch of average americans, frustrated with their state of affairs, but lacking the education to know how to fix things. They seem like a headless mob, aimless and without real focus, which the Republican Party is doing it's best to take control of.

Feel free to correct me if you feel my impression is inaccurate.
