Haven't you heard? Cops are allowed to give lawful orders. Anything they say goes. Obama is a tyrant, but cops are gods.
It's really becoming almost like a war zone in some American cities, where police will shoot if there's even the slightest possible indication of a threat. Can you imagine if someone treated a police officer the same way these police officers treated this man in this situation? Shoot because they are not following your commands and might be posing a threat to you? Unfortunately these type of incidents are becoming all too common. I have read in many third world countries the people are reluctant to involve the police when there has been a crime, because they risk more trouble than it's worth. Is the U.S. beginning to turn into a third world country?
Flagging down a cop for assistance is a roll of the dice. There are too many variables to be able to predict how he/she/it will act. It's better not to interact with them.
LA is NOT for the faint of heart..... I grew up and lived there for 36+ YEARS. You people would not have survived!
OMG! I've done it before and they helped me. I never was worried about being shot! Come on people! ...come back to reality!
I don't get it. Over the past 5 years or so, I've called the cops in to several crime scenes. I've dealt with Nevada Highway Patrol, Metro, and BLM. Every time, they have known for sure that I'm armed. Before I came here, there were similar situations in Utah. I've even had cops approach me while I was shooting. Apparently, they know that the gun culture is not the problem. A HUGE part of how you can expect to be treated by cops is in how you carry yourself, and how you present yourself to them. I can't speak for the whole deal in Commiefornistan. It's a whole different set of rules there. That's part of why I don't even go to that place anymore.
Where is the evidence that this man was flagging anyone down? Perhaps this man was on drugs acting crazy, the Cop believed the man had a gun and did what he was trained to do. End of story.
And the cop was wrong and an innocent man is shot in the head as a result. The cop made a drastic mistake, but if this case follows standard procedure the cop will not face any repercussions. In any other profession, a human error that results in such an injury or death would result in a tremendous amount of oversight, policies & training would be reviewed and improved, regulatory agencies would descend on the company and person, charges would be filed. Imagine if everything was the same except the man flagged down a normal car and an occupant of the car shot the man, he would likely be crucified. A badge and a costume make all the difference.
