Is the US a nation any more? An economic area for migrants? OR the world's reserve currency which allows it to print IOUs to escape reality?
America is a land mass extending from the Canadian Northwest Territories south to Patagonia. Inhabitants include American native Indians, European Anglos, African non-Anglos, Asians, eastern Indians, and a various assortment of imports - ie - not American Indian. Oh yeah, and Canadians. Is the U.S. a nation any more? Yes, though fractured and possibly destined for oblivion, though still attractive for immigrants who know they can improve their options. That window may soon close.

I'll tell you what America isn't. It is no longer the country that belongs only to white, conservative, Christian, men. Those days are over
