Fawned over what? I thanked everyone for their responses, didn't I?

From what I gather, posters are dismissive of opinions not in line with theirs, and think its necessary to voice their impatience and discontent in condescending and hateful ways, instead of discussing in a manner conducive to finding common solutions.

The "less opinionated than thou" types are rather amusing as well. ;)

Since these are only opinion forums, coming here without an opinion is like a dog that won't hunt.

Look at all the copy cat demonstrators (in reality, anarchists) that are now cropping up all over the U.S. (what 15-20 cities now?) since the Wall St. protests started..all, unhappy with the country, but not knowing exactly 'why.' Plenty of places to aim the blame at, but the basic 'spirit' of anger and uprising is becoming universal.

I know that many dont want to face the possibility of "Anarchy is Coming to the U.S." and prefer to turn a blind eye as in the proverbial "frog being slowly boiled alive," but denial of the situation will not make it go away. Again the slogan "Visualize World Peace" is the nice-niks false mantra to overlook the reality of the world volatility and discontent. "Denial" isnt just a good name for a rock band...

Don't worry. When it happens, you can blame it on an underclass of unemployed people and carry on regardless.

Everywhere in the world, people are protesting against this global economic lack of realism and the idiocy of trying to force not just people, but entire countries into dollar servitude for generations to come. But when people rose up in UK, they didn't have a point and were just a crowd of mindless materialists who wanted flat screen tvs. (this is sarcasm, btw)

Why the UK protestors are different from the protestors around the world, has not really been established. But that is what the old Righties will say.

And for sure it's what they'll say if US people tire of their greed.

with all respect i do not believe president obama is responsible for the racism especially from organizations like stormfront where they conceive that on their own recognizance

LOL stormfront? Stormfront isn't the president of the US and stormfront has little to no visibility. Any effect they have is like a fart in the wind.

I don't think Obama is responsible for the racism spouted by the wingnuts here, either.

They are quite visible on the net, just as Stompfronters are.

I'm far from desperate. I'm not broke, I'm not in debt, I have health care and I have nothing to complain about. I'm happy in everything in my life.

I'm ANGRY. As in MAD AS HELL.

I'm sick of picking up the paper and being called a racist, a terrorist, a murderer, a fascist or fascist supporter, greedy, a shill for the corporations, unable to think for myself, a sheep. I'm tired of leftwing conspiracy theories, 9/11 trutherism, protesting good US foreign policy on both sides of the aisle. I'm sick of Karl Marx being held up as an example of noble thinking and a target of emulation, rather than disdain. I'm sick of Che Guevara T-shirts and talk of leftwing revolution. I'm sick of Leftwing Government trying to use "price signals" to force me to ration my health care, my water usage, my electricity usage, my gas usage. I'm sick of it.

I've suffered through 3 years of constant unending insults and Government interference in the most intimate details of my personal and professional life. How many more years do I have to pick up my paper and be called a racist before I can finally get mad enough to go out and break heads? How often do I have to be called a willing slave a grave insult to an American, merely for getting up and going to work for my "evil" corporation that gives me every opportunity for advancement and career fulfillment?

SM is making a point though.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to even watch the news. Now and then one comes across actual reporting, while most news is nothing but 'debate', opinions, people talking over each other, yelling, belittling....regardless whether its MSNBC, CNN, FOX....
No thank you. I rather still read to minimize the nonsense, but even there mostly opinion anymore.
