What exactly is the Australian Parliament these days?

The place where policy is debated and laws enacted to for the good of the Australian People or is it just a political boxing ring?.

I would say the latter We have a prime minister and opposition leader who in almost every sitting in 2012 has consisted of mud slinging and personal attacks from both Labor and Liberals/Nationals.

these are two organisations who ask the people of Australia to place faith in them to govern in their best interests. but given the events of the last year are either Gillard or Abbott worthy of our vote or trust?.

they both sound out how they will tackle such issues like illegal migration and the economy but that is only for the cameras.

perhaps it's time for us the Australian people in the next election to perhaps vote in a different direction

are Labor or the coalition worthy of our vote anymore?.

Vote Bob Katter. I know I know. Read his policies. They are much better than the nonsense that the duopoly come up with.

And I agree. Question Time is a pathetic joke. They should all be ashamed.

    I completely agree.

We need leaders who are willing to have an actual debate rather than two sides offering no constructive critisism which is what is happened with Gillard and Abbott leading their respective parties.

We only have to look back at Rudd and Turnbull and see that the debate level can be raised. Take the ETS as an example. Turnbull opposed Rudds plan but he was willing to talk and present his own plan even if it costed him the leadership of his party.

As you can see from my avater. I don't intend to vote for either major party and I hope others join me no matter what minor party they vote for.

I don't support either major party at the moment but 90% of the problem is Abbott who accuses the Prime Minister of committing crimes every time he opens his mouth. It's disgusting.

Who are we going to vote for??? There is no one else!!!!

I hope your not saying to vote green because the greens would hand our sovereignty over to the United Nations and force 98% of the straight population to accept the rules dictated to them by the 2% homosexual community.

2% telling 98% how they have to be treated.....................................

Now is that a dictatorship or what??????????????????????????

    Well said,
I am with you in regards to the parties/politicians.
However, I also think that the mud throwing was started by the Libs, its the first time in Aussie history that we have an opposition in parliament, which for its own and sole purpose is *against*.
They (the Libs) have no visions for this nation.
Just imagine an Abbott with his right wing Bishop next to him, its almost like an Adolf and Eva Maria.
The world doesn't need that anymore, this time was terrible enough.
However, as time goes by, and the red necks in our society are getting less, parties like the Greens, assumed they open their horizon to other issues as well (which are important in leading a country), they will become more prominent and important.
All the best to the Aussie Greens....
    Regards m2catter

Wake up catts and smell the CO2 FFS.

The greens are in favour of a one world government FFS that self confessed poofter Bob Brown admitted it.

Now is that what you want, do you want Australia to be a state in a one world government?

Do you want that pig & IPCC official Edenhoffer to redistribute Australia's mineral wealth or for him to stipulate to us on how we should use our natural resources and our potential energy.

If you are in favour of this then do us all a favour and leave Australia and go and live over there with him, you can be his little disciple spreading the Edenhoffer testament on global warming.

The greens know nothing about FAMILY because they have been hijacked by homnosexuals as a matter of fact most of our parliaments have been hijacked by homosexuals.

Now look up some of the statistics on homosexuals and you will find there is more violence in homosexual relationships than there is in hetrosexual relationships.

But the homosexuals are pretty good at keeping this a secret.

    FACT!

What about the fact that they have multiple partners and even go out during relationships to have sex with strangers in public toilets.

What sort of farking family will these people make.

And they want to be married amd accepted by 98% of the staright population?

They should be seeking a psychiatrist FFS, not getting legal custody of children.

Also look up some other very important statistics on homosexuality,

Like for example that 18% of homosexuals think its quite OK to adopt a child raise it and then when it comes of age fark it too!

They say thats if it concents?........or they didnt put their dirty pedophile fingers on the child before hand.

The greens had a self confessed poofter as their leader FFS, i wonder who cops the beatings in that relationship LOL.

And Christine Milne is the architect of Australias carbon tax.

Greens are not good for the environment or Australian society, fingers crossed that these preistess worshipping homosexual comminists dont survive the next election.

    Dumb,
    are you for real?
I guess you are somewhere between 40 and 55, and obviously a real red neck, and who has never dreamed to be with two women at the same time(treesome)?
I also guess, that while you are driving through the outback and having troubles with your vehicle you would never ask the two poofters for help, who slowed down offering to help you, would you?
You most certainly don't enrich this forum with your comments, plain silly and disgusting....
    Cheers

    Sorry to offend you catts,

But you sound like you support the myths,

    Anthropogenic Global Warming &

Homosexual relationships are equal to Hetrosexual relationships.

I'm afraid that i support the reality of both and as you can see myth and reality are like chalk and cheese. :eyepopping:

    Future Australian Leader, welcome.

Just be thankful we're 20 years behind the USA. You should post this same question then, perhaps you could slightly rephrase it to: "are we officially a corporatocracy?".

Turnbull and Rudd behaved no better, they were just more eloquent.

The one and only reason the politicians "sling mud", is because it wins them votes.

    Sad, but true.

Are you suggesting the PM is squeaky clean?
What I find disgusting is that at question time, an answer from the "left" invariably starts and finishes with an attack on the questioner.
Maybe you haven't read the same data as I about our PM.

You also forget they usually don't answer the questions anyway. What is the point of question time?
