What is the primary reason you support Trump? Did he resolve your primary concern during his first term? If not then what makes you think he will succeed in a 2nd term?

I ask because based upon my listening to Trump supporters and right wing media for the better part of the last decade, I thought border security and paying down national debt were top priorities. Yet when I ask Trump supporters how Trump will succeed with border security and paying down debt when he failed in his first term, to my surprise it does not seem that team Trump thinks he can or will.

This leads me to suspect that the driving force behind those motivated to vote for Trump is a general fear of the America they perceive the left as trying to build. Am I correct about this? If not, then do me a favor by answering my first three questions. I honestly seek to understand what motivates the average Trump supporter at a fundamental level.

I appreciate any input I get from Trumpers.

I believe his Supreme Court will overturn Chevron and it's follow on Massachusetts in June and the whole CO2 panic will be left dead in the water.

And that alone should earn him a spot on Mt. Rushmore as one of the greatest Presidents in history.

All the rest is just icing on that cake.

I support capitalism and freedom. The Biden puppet team demands subservience to the government and long term dependence on it for the vast majority of Americans. There will be rich, powerful people in the progressive Democrat world, but they will be our rulers, not our leaders.

Joe Biden is senile. He is not fit to be president. Kamala Harris is stupid. She was selected to be vice president only because she is a person of color and a female. She has no other qualifications.

I am not a Trump fan, but he is for capitalism. He favors controlling the border. I am not a fan of his style, but he is the only viable alternative to a party and an administration which is a disaster.

A second Biden term will be far worse than the first. He will wreck the economy and force draconian environmental regulations upon us. Even if the Republicans control the House and the Senate, The Biden puppet team with do it all though executive orders. They will be a committee of dictators.

Everything others have already said but I must admit I just want to see the meltdown the left would have.

They would go absolutely psychotic Nationwide so we could finally stop hearing all of the hysterical hyperbole about January the 6th because their reaction would completely dwarf that.

What freedom/s will Trump fight for that Biden is against? What makes Trump a better capitalist than Biden?

One of the first and biggest that comes to mind is that he would not try to force manufacturers to phase out conventional vehicles in favor of some toy electric cars.

The Biden administration is a regulation machine. Their bureaucrats are constantly writing regulations that drive businesses crazy. It's the Democrat way. Biden is also always making noises about raising Federal taxes.

Artificially raising energy prices is also anti-business.

How can the Republicans pay down debt while lowering taxes? Seems to me the fastest way to pay off debt is to raise taxes and cut spending. Republicans have a history of lowering taxes while increasing debt.

As for regulation, do they serve no positive mitigating purpose? I agree that over regulation is a problem, but so is under regulation. Frankly I trust neither side to be objective about regulation.

How does the left artificially raise energy prices, and to what end? Not saying you are wrong here, I am just ignorant on the topic of government artificially raising energy prices. Does this have something to do with regulation?

The very first thing Biden did as soon he took the Oath of Office was kill the Keystone Pipeline. That sent a message as to what his energy policies would be. Biden is out to end the use of fossil fuels.

Biden slow walks the approval of energy leases on federal lands. Energy analysts cite that will delay the development of oil producing areas by years. You just don't sink a hole in the ground and start pumping. It takes a long time.

As for national debt, nothing will ever get fixed if the Federal Government does not curtail spending. Yes the Republicans are lax on that. The Democrats don't care. They believe in Modern Monetary Theory which calls for more spending and endly money creation.

Trump was never a budget cutter and never claimed to be, so I'm somewhat surprised that your right wing sources are telling you that paying down the national debt is a reason to vote for Trump. That's not going to happen no matter who is President. Trump's fiscal advantage is that he doesn't have an agenda of high dollar permanent expansions of government and new programs to run on.

As far as the border, it seems obvious that Trump wants a secure border and Biden doesn't.

The two biggest threats to the US are Biden's wars and
    Biden's illegal immigration.

The wars make us more enemies and the illegal immigration
lets in prisoners and mental patients from all nations - it is
the big hole in the side of the ship.

The 2021 GDP growth number is invalid because the was the recovery after the Covid shutdowns. As for the others, have the numbers been adjusted for inflation? They probably have. So they are probably okay.

GDP number is nice, but like many consumers, I’m looking at what I pay at the grocery store, gas station and restaurants. It takes nothing to get to $100 at the grocery store. Yesterday I bought a package of Chicken breasts. It was $14.11. A 2 liter Coke bottle is $3.50. I’m over $50 before I get out of fruit and vegetables isle.

The last time I filled up, gas was $4.50 a gallon. A meal for two at Arbey’s was $23.

This is going to bring down you precious little Biden figurehead, not the fact that he’s senile and unfit for the office.

I think that is the most common reason. People see other Americans as enemies, and Trump as their leader who will attack the enemy. They thrive on division. Its food for them.

Lets not kid ourselves, - Trump is not for capitalism, he is for massive government control on imports and printing money, which is why spending and deficits shot up as soon as he took office.

Why do you always feel the need to cut half of someone's post out and then quote them entirely out of context?

How do you like it when people do it to you?

It was 100% in context. You explained your motivation, and that is what I addressed

Its pretty much standard in any discussion forum to quote only the part which you are addressing. Makes it easier to read. Why should it bother me when people do it to me?

Here is your post, - every word. Please explain the context if its something other than what you clearly say. You literally said you support Trump because you want to see a meltdown and people going psychotic and you expect rioting worse then Jan-6. You support Trump because you know he will bring division, chaos and violence.

Go ahead and explain your context.

If you hadn't have cut my post you would have seen that my primary reason is the other reasons that people have listed but my secondary reason is I just want to see the left have a meltdown.

I don't care how they feel about it they need to be adults and learn to grow up and deal with their emotions in an adult manner.... And if they can't do that that is their problem and not mine but I find it entertaining and funny as all hell

When you say " I just want to see the meltdown" and then re-iterate is again with the next breath, it sure makes it sound like its the primary reason. But ok, so you are saying it's one of the reasons, and not the only reason. Its a weird reason, but as I said, it is probably the most common reason, so you are not alone.

You guys always seem to forget Trump's first term comprised a global pandemic and a Congress more interested in destroying him than in government the country. He still managed low inflation, record low numbers on unemployment including records for POC and women and overcoming the shorted recession in history.

Trump's got a lot of baggage but at least he drags it in the right direction cutting government and regulations and putting more responsibility in the hands of the people.

Pretty funny you should find a reason to be critical about that since basically everyone that voted for Joe Biden said the only reason they did is because they hated Trump.

These are all real GDP number which calculate the inflation.

And after that the number is still the same

    Trump 1st 3 years

    GDP growth

    2017: 2.2%

    2018: 2.9%

    2019: 2.3%

    2020: -2.8

    VS Biden 1st 3 years

    GDP growth

    2021 5.95%

    2022 2.6%

    2023 2.5%

but please educate us how much it cost chicken in Ron the sanctimonious' state.

I can't speak for them. I only speak for myself. Also, I have not heard people say they pulled for Biden for "hating Trump". No doubt some people literally hate him (like some hate Biden), but I don't personally know any. You said some time ago you hate "progressives". Does that include Biden?

Did lot of people vote against Trump? Yes, - millions, but it was not because they hate him, they just wanted him the heck away from the oval office. The country was in pretty rough shape after his 4 yrs.

I don't support him but I realise why people do, he is the epitome of anti-woke, he says what people feel in their gut, he is the populist backlash against the extremism of the left.
