VISION FOR AUSTRALIA - "THE CAN DO COUNTRY"

    What is Vision For Australia?

Vision for Australia is a non-political, issues-based movement founded specifically to empower the Australian people to more directly influence the important long-term decisions which will shape our future and, to hold those in-charge accountable for getting them done. It is a forum for national debate leading to resolute action.

    What does it stand for?

It stands for being the best we can be. For striving to achieve great things. It stands for setting targets and sticking to them. It stands for having the courage to back ourselves and take big risks. Mostly though it stands for you and I taking more of the responsibility today in order that the outcomes for our children are predictable and not the result of a series of short-term policies rolled out in order to win the next election.

What does the "Can Do" Country mean?

The Can Do Country stands for getting-in and getting the job done, no matter what. It represents the attitude we need to regain our confidence and become one of the top three nations in the world. In what? How about engineering, medicine and curing so-called incurable diseases, social justice, entrepreneurship, swimming (what happened there?), football, statesmanship. In fact, whatever we decide. We need to become the nation known for aspiring to great visions then making them happen. We need a plan for the future, a bold vision which inspires us, and our children, and we need it now.

    How Does it Work?

Our current set of active issues are called "Stands." They're posted on this site and at Facebook. Review them and see which, if any, are important to you. At Facebook you’re invited to join in the discussion around specific stands and vote in the polls*. This is called Taking a Stand.

Alternatively you can choose to Make a Stand, that is register your own Active Issue relevant to the long-term future of Australia. Here you'll be able to Make a Stand, facilitate discussion and manage a poll**.

    Mate,
you got a serious problem. The top three nation in the world? Why, what for?
Going to war we are already excellent, and I mean it in a double way, education wise we are falling behind, more and more. And in engineering?
The more I travel the more I become aware, that we fail to reach an average on many fronts, sorry to say....
    Regards

    Sorry,
I forgot to answer your question.
I see our future in a better education, better (more neutral) and less biased news, no scare mongering tactics and no lies (if possible), but most importantly in an sustainable lifestyle.
We don't need to be number one or three ot 200, but living in a way, that you and me will be proud of in many years to come.
    Cheerio
P.S.: War refugees are welcome in my world...

Um war refugees have always been welcome in Australia, they have always been welcome here, they have always been welcome here for a better life especially after their homeland was designated by war, it's Muslim refugees we are against, well the ignorant among us anyway.
