What is the point of your signature quote?

Mine is one of the few statements of irrefutable truth there is. Let’s face it, there is no way to prove it wrong. Although to be more honest I actually do know who said it. My cat, Gracie, says it all the time.

Personally, I find more wisdom in "woof" than in "meow".

But I will be going on a trip in a couple of months to find true great wisdom from the orangutans in Sumatra. Really looking forward to picking their brains and learning their secrets.

Wow. If you had not specified Sumatra, a guy could get a very different picture who you might be hanging around. I would have said its a waste of time. But if you are going to Sumatra to find the orangutangs, there is hope of brains to pick.

I actually didn't realize sigs were a thing here until this thread. I usually read this site on my phone and that doesn't show sigs. But on my PC I can see them and realize I have none and must look special because of it.

The only other place on earth to find orangutans is Borneo and they are cool too. But if you were thinking of who I think you were thinking of, orangutan do not deserve to be compared to him. They are better than that.

They only recently determined that "meow" is how cats talk to humans. It's close to how they talk to their kittens, but not exactly and they don't really make it any other time except to communicate with humans

    https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/news-blog/the-manipulative-meow-cats-learn-to-2009-07-13/

Maybe not entirely, but I have had several tens of cats over my long life, and they all talked quite volubly

It's an observation, not a philosophy (technically, we're not doing philosophy here).

And that is some people are full of it..

To not covet our blessings or bow down to the works of our own hands. But rather to turn our affections and wonder to the benevolent spirit and grace central to it all. And thus free ourselves from the spirit of selfishness and the angst of perpetual contention.

My "philosophy" in this regard is being against biases towards groups you belong to. When we evaluate opinions and philosophies, we must give them the same amount of slack that we give to our own opinion, if we judge others by their worst examples and ourselves by our best intentions, we will be stuck in whatever group we're in, regardless of what is true.

I try to exemplify this in the fact that I'm quoting someone who I disagree with on most issues. I am not a fan of Bush, but it would be hypocritical of me to say we should be open to others' opinions, and then disregard a good point well made just because it comes from someone I don't agree with on other issues.

I really do like the basic idea of noticing at least some positive quality in the people who we may regard as opponents. Doing this is a beginning toward Shalom with them. I am biased because I believe that even "Azazel" can be restored to YHWH and saved....... but many would argue that I am far too naive.

I am of the belief that if the followers of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus will take that statement by him to "pray for your enemies" literally.....and begin to pray for Azazel....... as the Patriarch Enoch was once asked to do...... then the kingdom of Satan will soon be divided and will soon fall!

"but the goat on which the lot fell for Aza'zel shall be presented alive before the LORD
to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness
    to Aza'zel." (Leviticus 16:10, RSV)

    https://reluctant-messenger.com/book_of_enoch.htm

You may wish to read chapters thirteen to fifteen for more background information on this theory about Azazel.

Why would YHWH the Ancient of Days the Heavenly Father and the Word - Logos and the Elohim / the Seven Spirits of G-d, want Azazel to pray for men.... to intercede for men...... if YHWH was unwilling to listen to an answer Azazel and the fallen Watchers??????????????
