I have been banned from local media. The local newspaper has cancelled me for “spreading false narratives”. I have been cancelled from local public discourse for “slandering the state”. It is odd, but if I type in that term on Google, it does not retrieve a reference to the former Soviet Union as one might think. Google is a government propaganda platform so apparently any references to the soviets have been expunged.

People everywhere are becoming cognizant of the fact that information in our age does not flourish as freely as it once did; it is it is tightly controlled by central authority. The dangerous mentality that people critical of a status quo should be banished to the outlands is rising like a phoenix in America even as it seemingly perished in 1989 with the fall of a wall.

At 74 I consider myself lucky that I was not victimized in the 1950’s by the medical quackery that diagnoses children today with phony personality disorders like ADHD. Recalcitrant, poorly parented students are darted like zoo animals in a kind of “one flew over the cuckoo’s nest” methodology to control behavior. The Nazis did this to their population in the late 1930’s with methamphetamines, cocaine, and drugs like Pervitin. In America today Adderall and Ritalin are the choice of the government. Wisdom less central planning has come back to haunt our society with riots, vandalism, mass murders, opioid epidemics, obesity, alcoholism, violent crime, falling birth rates, and a general lowering of average intelligence among the population.

Virtually all of the major problems in contemporary American society can be traced d back to the War on Poverty and the Great society. The corrosion of the nuclear family and the growth of government is the single greatest threat to US Constitution and our way of life. The great failure of social engineering is now masquerading as systemic racism. The official line is that it is not the government that faltered, it is the people that refused to submit to the genius of elitism that pays for the second and third homes of embedded political operatives in permanent Washington.

Donald Trump was the last voice for the “real” people which is the way our Constitution was designed to work. This is an ugly time for our republic. The government corrupted the US Postal Service and presided over a Soviet style fraudulent election right in front of the people. A chief medical advisor to the president collaborated with an ideological enemy of the United States and exploited a loophole that created a global plague. Again, right in front of the people.

In an age where narcissism is publicly punished, Dr. Anthony Fauci has killed millions of innocent elderly and health compromised people for self-aggrandizement and personal gain. Narcissists like Bernie Madoff, Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein killed no one. Not only is Fauci still on the payroll, but he is presented to the people as a saint. Reasonable people can see that Fauci makes Joseph Mengele look like a rank amateur.

Now Jimmy Carter-like inflation and war are returning because they empower the state and submit the people to state dependence. This is what the people really think, and this is why I have been silenced.

Given the content of the OP I can appreciate why the local media has no interest in rehashing conspiracy nonsense that has no merit.

Why do you continue to use Google? There are plenty of search engines and most of them are better than Google. If you want to be free of the power web sites hold over you, just stop using them. We got along fine - perhaps better - in the 50's without social media and search engines. How does a newspaper ban you? You must mean they refuse to print your op eds. Post here and ignore the newspaper. My wife and I don't subscribe to or read newspapers any longer. It is much ado about nothing.

I believe the major problems you point out result, not from 60's government programs, but from information and the internet. The incompetence and corruption of government was pretty well hidden from the public in the old days while the internet has laid it all bare. Nothing meaningful has changed except for the information.

In your shoes I would recommend divorcing yourself from politics. You can't affect it. It really can't affect you either. Take up a more pleasing interest to replace it. I follow politics for its entertainment value. I certainly don't take it as seriously as you do. If I did I would go to the golf course or build models or take up some other hobby.

Yessir, George Orwell saw the same things as you do, and you're both right.

In a time of universal deception, speaking the truth is a radical act. So radical the speaker will be banned and censored.

I don't hold Trump in the same high regard you do. He was right about many things, but he was a poor leader and cared no more about the US Constitution than Joe Biden does.

Otherwise I agree with you completely.

    Let's see ...

In 1940, the poverty rate for Black Americans was 78%.
In 2020, the poverty rate for Black Americans was 18.8%.

In 1970, the "media" was a controlled by a handful of Newspapers, and three major TV networks.
In 2020, the "media" is comprised of tens of thousands of internet sources, Cable TV news programs, the big three networks,
HBO, Cinemax, Netflix ... and every dude with a keyboard.

Methinks you are looking back in history with rose-colored glasses. There is FAR more movement of information now
than there was in the past. In the 60's, newspapers and TV wouldn't have given your conspiracy crap a platform either,
at least now, you and the rest of the conspiracy dudes can play on hundreds of internet blogs that are available to
millions of people (if they're stupid enough to click on such sites).

So I'm going to have to call BS on this claim that things are "worse" now.

Methinks you tout improvement to poverty without actually explaining how much it has cost the American Tax payers ;) Forget the 40's just start with LBJ go forward from that point...

Trillions in welfare and very little improvement in productivity..

A lot of information is not necessarily a good thing if virtually all of that information is dispensed and controlled from a central source and established corporations. Truth becomes the the truth of the powers that be.

So name a time period in US history that had more diverse information sources than we have now.

Go back 50 years and you find that the three big TV networks were under
far more regulations and under less diverse ownership than the cable news networks and streaming sources of today.
The newspapers were owned by a limited number of large publishers and controlled by a very elite, and wealthy
group. There was no other platform to get individual thoughts out to the general public.

Today, there are thousands of outlets, streaming services, blogs, more diverse TV stations and sites like this one to
get your thoughts out to the public. You are kidding yourself if you think there has ever been in a time in history
where news sources were more diverse.

You are correct, however not everybody views it as a positive thing for society.

kinda sad some people have such a horrible life living in the greatest country on earth

many changes that have taken place over the last 30 years I have not agreed with

but I accept change even when I dont think the change is positive

I am a happy, grateful, and proud american even if I dont agree with the direction of the country

fortunately , I am secure in my ability to improve my life despite the politics of the day

I suggest this guy buy a passport and leave the country

if not, a voice may tell him to storm the capitol and kill anybody that disagrees with trump

The state has immunity from tort offenses because, get this, the government can't act illegally. But, that immunity is being eroded away.

Your first mistake is to assume that you and your fellow Trump fans are the "real" people. I am sure, however, that Fox News and OANN has convinced you for countless hours that the myths of the "real" people and the silent Trump majority are actually true. However, the last election dispelled those carefully crafted myths. A little introspection may help so that your Trump-adoring side will not be in the political wilderness for years to come.
