Tosh and piffle, on several levels.

The soldiers and Assange are not guilty of Treason.

May I remind you that Nazi soldiers at the Nuremberg trials said that they were just following orders. Following orders is no excuse for committing evil deeds, and helping evil people achieve their objectives. It is up to the citizenry, the police and the soldiers to keep the government honest.

Treason is committed by someone who has allegiences to foreign powers or ideals over and above the good of the people of the country they represent. Mistreason is the concealment of treason, whether passively or actively concealed.

The soldiers and Assange, if they are good honest people, which I think they are, would be guilty of mistreason if they did not reveal the treasonous acts of the governement.

This is what must be distinguished when coming to a judgement.
