What would the Israelis have done had we not invaded Iraq? With Saddam bluffing about having WMD's it caused the Iranians to stay put on their side of the border and kept them from attacking. And it must have caused some degee of concern in the Israeli government. Saddam had tried to destroy Isreal several times before. Without definite knowledge that no WMD threat existed Israel would have responded to that potential existential threat from a mortal enemy which had tried to destroy Israel in the past, in what way? What do you think the Israelis would have done in response to this potential threat from Iraqi WMD's? Nothing? Something? What?
During the Persian Gulf War Iraq fired 39 modified Scud ballistic missiles at Israel... Saddam Hussein was widely revered in Arab world for his anti-Israel stance and he figured he could destroy the Jewish State in vindication of their bombing of his Atomic Plant... What Israel would have done? They did the right thing since nearly 400,000 Iraqi Jews were living in Israel by now... The right thing was <NOTHING> since most of the Scuds fell in the sea and very few did some damage.!
It took me a while but this CNN article I found from 2003 may have the seeds of truth to help us nail down this theory. Once and for all. Yea or nay. I want the truth even if it totally discredits the theory that W invaded in order to prevent Israel's launching a pre-emptive attack against Iraq in self defense. http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/03/19/sprj.irq.israel/index.html?_s=PM:WORLD I don't know. It certainly reads as though the US assurances prevented Israel from taking action. The IDF was on full alert and had planes ready. If the US had NOT invaded would Sharon have done nothing? I don't know. How do non-Muslims read this information?
You have not signed the above slanderous comments. Israel my Dear is the best country in the world for Jews!!!
Considering their start point, where they came from and that today its the biggest concentration of Jews than any other place, I'd say you are wrong.
The fact is that life in Diaspora for Jews is very good, they have integrated into society and face very little discrimination, why would they leave when family, friends, jobs and lifestyles are all in the country they live in. Immigration to Israel is slowing, Herzl was wrong Jews can live amongst others and certainly in Britain they are welcomed. Deny it all you like, the fact is that 67 years after the creation of a Jewish state the majority of Jews choose to live elsewhere. Can you think of another nation where the majority of its potential citizens live happily in exile?
But the start point was exile - not Israel....., so if say 5 years ago the biggest concentration for Jews was the US and now its Israel, how can you expect me to accept what you say ? the numbers in Israel are on the rise and in exile decrease. In the 90's we had about a million or more East European Jewish migration that wasnt possible before due to technical difficulties among them housing and jobs, that doesnt mean they didnt want to migrate before or were happy there, I dont deny many do have happy lives and wish them all the best, I dont need them holding my hand to justify my existance......, what you say is wrong because the start point was exile and moving to an entire diffrent place has more to it that a happy/non happy lives.
That its been that way since Israel was established yet the numbers in Israel continue to rise while they drop outside of Israel.
so-called "Jews" , like most people go where the grass is greener. When life gets a bit tough in France etc. and when the Zionist Govt can entice them with a job + low cost housing built on stolen Palestinian lands , , etc., then they'll jump at the chance. But when Israel's economy turns . then they fly to wherever they see a better standard of living. Like : Israelis in Berlin tout cheap groceries, encourage emigration Finance Ministry’s former director says group urging Israelis to leave country represents a new moral low The Facebook group leading the charge, called “Olim LeBerlin,” says it offers “all the advice, explanations, bureaucracy and forms to help you get out of the impossible cost of living and goods in Israel.” The burgeoning cost of living has been a hot topic in Israel for years, culminating in massive protests in 2011 that saw hundreds of thousands camp out in city streets throughout the country demanding that the government take action to make things such as food and housing more affordable. Many who emigrate from Israel point to the cost a living as a key factor in their decision. Official figures from 1990 to 2011 actually show a drop in immigration in past years, from a high of 19,400 in 2001 to 6,700 in 2011. However, high profile social media campaigns and large protests have pushed the issue to the fore, forcing Israeli officials to go on the offensive against the emigration campaign. http://www.timesofisrael.com/israelis-in-berlin-tout-cheap-groceries-encourage-emigration/
