I go by the animal. Got a cat called Freddie (We didn't name him) but I forget where I heard it but, for me, for Freddie, I called him 'Freddie Freddie Good Boy' when greeting him and calling him or 'My Freddie Freddie Good Boy' when petting him. And Babe who was 17/18 when she was when I was 27/28.. In later life, her name was still Babe and everything, and she was Babe, but, I called her 'Ms. Mew' or 'Pwilly Killy' and often greeted her like 'Hey Ms. Mew, how are you?' and I even had a little pet nickname in all of that 'Little Ms. Mew' or 'My Little Ms. Mew' and she seemed to like it and it stuck. It was the loss of Freddie and the Timely passing of Babe, was when I found I had a talent for eulogies, fore when I told family members across the world on FB on PM of any pet's passing, they've said they're great eulogies, but it was just me speaking from the heart, like Babe, a very effective mouser to the end. Even when we retired her after she lost her sight, this blind cat still caught a mouse. Babe was smart, Freddie was beautiful with his love and self, and I've been blessed with a loving family and loving pets. Freddie hunted with love fore, my memories of Freddie hunting would be the prey he gave us as gifts, he showed his love and wanted us to know he hunted/was a very thoughtful present from him and I'd always love him for it. Freddie was a living hunter - Bar this one time when I, at the corner of my eye witnessed Freddie jump out of no where in the garden and ripped a bird's head off, I saw daylight, everything, a side of Freddie I never saw before. He was loving cat / killing machine that day. He just took it out and the bird had no chance and it was so quick. - and since I saw it, when I went out to see him when I went out and he was still there, I congratulated him and he was still excited, was cool. Babe, she would, according to my nan, would stalk her prey and her mouth would go like Silence of the Lambs on occasion. They both hunted rodents and birds. Sandy, that cat back in the day, I remember he made a thing of mousing. Would go out on patrol I honestly do picture an old army helmet on him as he did it, but he just marched/walked where he knew where they were and waited them out in the garden. He had a post and that post was where he knew there were mice under the shed, he for a fortnight (2 weeks) he did that until he got them all. I've never seen a cat do that until he did it or since. As a musician, I like that Babe loved music and Freddie... He like all cats liked tones and familiarity. Cats are actually musical creatures.
I don't see anything wrong with the name Bingo if it was a family dog and I had a wife and kids scenario and we could all sing that song 'There was a man who had a dog and Bingo was his name -o B' I' N' G' O' B' I' N' G' O' B' I' N' G' O' And Bingo was his name -o' I mean, why not? I'm sure the dog would love the attention right and me, I think That'll be awesome (to have a wife and kids and all of that) - As things stand, I don't need a dog in my life right now, if anything, I'd say a cat's needed here sometimes since there's a river at the bottom of the garden which brings mice (for some reason)... Thankfully there are a lot of neighbour cats who keep them down, but, a cat is always handy to have in the house. You play with it (the cat) and... That's fun plus the cat likes the attention but also, the cat needs this to remain happy/whatever... so.. Yeah, playing with your cat should make it an effective mouser too; I've not known any cats to not be into mice like Garfield (fictional cartoon cat created by Jim Davis) but, it might happen in real life.
Exactly. Pets need to be named based on seeing them and meeting them. Can't just name them theoretically.
