Now that the Hunter Biden saga is over (not really, at least in terms of Repub whining and ongoing, unproven allegations), what conspiracy theory moves up to the #1 position?

The Crazies in the House won't give up on baselessly accusing Joe of all manner of crimes. But my sense is the air has been let out of the balloon, somewhat.

Of course they have dementia ;) to fall back on. But I think the baby eating and pedophilia charges are stale. They need a new conspiracy theory The Following can sink its teeth in to.

Are there any whacky conspiracy theories you conservatives are aware of that have been flying under the radar? Ones ready for prime time? Maybe Joe being from planet Kolab? Or his mom being Hitler's mistress? Anything we can expect to see grace the headlines at Breitbart?

You mean more false accusations from Republicans to smoke-screen the REAL indictments against them? I believe, for once, you may be right.

Hmm.. @Lee Atwater are you suggesting that the charges from the court in DE are the only potential charges that could be levied? It would be equivalent to folks suggesting that once Bragg indicted Trump no other charges could be contemplated... and yet... Oh well, no one I know has ever said progressive folks were consistent....

The characterization I've heard of Trump's appointee's investigation in to Hunter is it was all encompassing. Meaning it included the Burisma/China/whatever the hell else allegations.
Do I expect this will all go away? No, especially since 95% of it was based on unproven allegations. After all, keeping the allegations alive is what Repubs do. They're just as good as a conviction in the eyes of The Following. In some ways better because they can go on infinitely without ever having any proof.

So... a regular abuser of crack cocaine, lied on application to get a fire arm and had a girlfriend that subsequently threw it in the garbage, attempted to defraud the federal government for 1.2 million dollars of taxes due to the IRS, was caught and the penalty was 2 years probabtion?

Don't even try to tell me our justice system is fair or equal for all.

There are LITERALLY 20 pages of posts from you doing exactly the same thing about Trump.

    http://politicalforum.com/index.php?search/64471078/&q=Trump+Investigation&o=date&c[user][0]=76505

Im sure in your mind, it's somehow different or justified.

    It isn't.

It is different. Furthermore you know it is. Because the allegations made against Trump that I've associated myself with are backed up by testimonial, documentary, or physical evidence. Evidence folks like yourself have been unable to credibly refute.

    So what's next?

The penalty for lying on the ATF form is rarely enforced.

According to newly revealed Justice Department records, the odds of being charged for lying on this form are virtually nonexistent. In the 2019 fiscal year, when Hunter Biden purchased his gun, federal prosecutors received 478 referrals for lying on Form 4473 — and filed just 298 cases, according to data extracted from the U.S. attorneys’ case management system. That’s out of approximately 27 million background checks undertaken in a 12-month period.

The numbers were roughly similar for fiscal 2018 (444 referrals and 271 cases) and fiscal 2020 (433 referrals and 243 cases). The data does not indicate the success rate of the prosecutions.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...-form-yields-few-prosecutions-new-data-shows/

The taxes Hunter owed were paid, albeit late.

A big-shot Hollywood lawyer reportedly paid off Hunter Biden’s delinquent taxes — which a source told The Post amounted to more than $2 million — as President Biden’s notoriously troubled son awaits the results of a Delaware grand jury’s investigation into his personal finances.

Kevin Morris, an entertainment attorney and novelist who earned a fortune representing the co-creators of “South Park” and won a Tony Award as the co-producer of “The Book of Mormon,” footed Hunter Biden’s overdue taxes totaling over $2 million — more than twice what was previously reported, a source familiar with conversations between the two told The Post.

    https://nypost.com/2022/05/08/hollywood-lawyer-kevin-morris-paid-off-over-2m-of-hunter-bidens-taxes/

So he committed a gun offense that's rarely enforced and was late paying his taxes. That's the sum and substance of 5 years of listening to you folks cry wolf.

    So what's next?

The Following needs to consider this looks to them like a travesty of justice because they've convinced themselves Hunter has committed the crimes of the century. The reality is.......he hasn't.

Meanwhile, they're still in denial about Trump's failed coup.

It is a beautiful day here in the opinions and beliefs section. You are likely to be exposed to opinions that are not the normal "My party is better than yours".

While the devout partisan only see the ugliness from the other side, I see it in both parties. Calling my opinion a false equivalency only reveals ones own cognitive bias.

So instead you wrote something tantamount to the same ineffectual nonsense you've written dozens of times before, "the parties are both the same." Even as their respective visions for America grow farther apart.

I never said they were the same. I said that I expect more use of our justice system for political purposes. Would you care to reply to what I actually said, of would you rather invent positions for me so you can argue with yourself?

You accidentally made a valid point. One things both parties have in common is their need to keep Americans divided. If Americans unite, they could never get away with spending our money like thieves with stolen credit cards. That is what this is all about.

Since this is merely a prediction and no one has the ability to see the future, I would love to admit I was wrong one day. I would love nothing more than to see my countrymen come together and respect our differences. Devout partisans are so consumed with hatred for others that few will ever notice their are criticizing their own reflection.

Can you cite references to the harsher consequences others have faced for the same "crimes" as Hunter Biden? In other words, please prove your claim that he got off easy.

How about some perspective, just this once? Hunter is not a former, current, or future public official. Why are you so determined to further ruin his life? Why are we supposed to care that the family member of the president was late paying his taxes, something many of us have done without being indicted, or that he had a gun he shouldn't have had?

Geebus but you righties need to get a ****ing grip.

Pot, meet kettle. Denial is an acronym, my friend. Don't Even kNow I Am Lying.

Trump publicly admitted, with his own cake hole, that he refused to return all of the classified documents he had no right to in the first place, and that he showed Top Secret documents to people who were in no way authorized to see them. Criminal and very stupid. Tillerson was right.

For future reference each time you make a false equivalence I'll simply reply with SOS.

    SOS.
