So you are willing to go on record claiming the Republicans in the House have not passed any economic measures and sent them to the Senate?

    That is your position?

The Republicans in the House did pass one economic bill, The Ryan Budget. It contained a provision basically eliminating Social Security as we know it. Harry Reid put it up for vote in the senate and it was voted down by the Democrats. He wanted the Republicans to go on the record as voting for it which will be used in the next election against them. Other than that they have put through bills against abortion, gay rights, same sex marriage, you know ,all the important stuff to get our economy back on track.

Sure, that's what I would do if I wanted to stall government. Just send up a bunch of crazy bills that you know will never get passed and, at the same time, refuse to work with anyone in the Senate.

Everybody figured out that game months ago.

    Well . . . almost everybody.

Democrats controlled ALL of our govt from odrama taking office until Jan 2011. After that Democrats controlled 2/3 of our govt. Democrats have BLOWN $4.5 TRILLION out the door since they took control in Jan 2007. When are THEY going to start creating jobs? Or better, when are they going to realize that it is NOT the government that creates jobs. How stupid can one group be?

We'll see what happens in the only poll that matters - November 2012.

Let's face it, both parties are fiscially irresponsible. Drunken sailors can't hold them a light!

I have to admit Romney doesn't do much for me. I've heard him called Obama Lite, which means he is better than Obama (no doubt about that) but still doing the wrong things, just not to the same degree.

Herman Cain would be a great president since Ron Paul will never appeal to those who don't believe in freedom, which is the vast majority of Americans these days.

Starting Jan 20 2013, The nation will be happy to take that chance. Getting the government out of the business of business WILL solve our present economic problems. Letting the market determine who should buy what and for how much is how a healthy economy prospers. Involve the govt and serious damage happens. The government cannot run itself efficiently, so there is no chance they have any ability to run an economy.

Riiiight just like it did for the last decade.

You may want to re-read your definition of insanity. Then go check a mirror.

The Republican party has nothing good to offer the middle class. You don't have to be too smart to see what their agenda is. They are there for only one purpose and that is to protect the millionaires and billionaires. Our young college students can see what they are up to and that is why you are seeing all this people camping outside of wall street and across America protesting against all these billionaires. They know that nothing is trickling down to the working class. Corporate greed!

The Republicans will be voted out of office in 2012 and the Democrats will control the House of Representatives. THEN! president Obama will be able to get the country moving again and put millions back to work. As long as the Republicans control the House, the president will be tied up and will not be able to pass any job creating bills.

Millions could be put back to work if the House and Senate would pass the Work Bill, but you know that the Republicans are just thinking of how they can make the president look bad in the creation of jobs so that they can get the presidents office in 2012. They are playing dirty politics and not thinking of the people that are suffering without jobs.

You might want to check history. The last decade was doing OK, not terrific but OK, until Democrats took over control of both Houses of Congress in Jan 2007. A deficit of $161 billion in FY 2007 went to $458 billion in the first FY under Democrats FY 2008, then went to $1,412 TRILLION for FY 2009 under Democrats, Then $1,293.5 TRILLION under Democrats again, and finally $1,301 TRILLION for FY 2011 under Democrats still. And now Democrats control only the Senate and have yet to pass a budget for FY 2012 which started 8 days ago. The Democrats controlling Congress did NOT pass a budget on time for FY 2008 or FY 2009, and they haven't passed any budget since FY 2009. They call this the worst financial crisis the nation has ever experienced but they do not pass a budget for almost THREE YEARS! How much would you invest with a banker, financial advisor, or broker that conducted his business in such an irresponsible manner? Nothing, or everything?

Would you run your personal finances in such a manner? Unfortunately, many do. Government fiscal irresponsibility + personal fiscal irresponsibility = DISASTER! Something has to change!

I think you have stated the problem pretty well, but are off on the solution. Yhe only way jobs will come back is through Gov't regulation, tarrrifs, or some way of forcing them. In a free market system people will buy the best price. I used to be in the antique business. I was always amazed by how An old metal electric fan could still we working after 50 years. Little hole on the to says oil. Put a couple of drops in every summer, and it still works good.Well, to find a well made fan that was made to last, you wll ned to go to an antique store. The companies that made them went out of busines or make something else because..... Americans would rather buy a cheap plastic fan mad in China with a permantly sealed bearing that wll last for 4 or 5 years, then throw it in the dumpster, then go to wal mart and buy a new one for $9.99. Buy American sounds good but applies to everbody else. I buy a hammer made in China because that is all I can afford. EVERYBODY ELSE SHOULD BUY AMERICAN. SO..... until we are forced to buy American, we will have no jobs, and our economy will continue to go down hill no matter which party wins. We can be forced to buy American by the gov't, OR... when our economy collapses and the Chineese wil no longer accept the dollar as payment. Then if we want a hammer or a fan we will have to open a factory and produce one. WALLA JOBS.
