Care to explain why you attack a religion of Love while you belong to a religion of Hate?

Please, if you read the article you would realise nobody is attacking Christianity.

However, I like how you ended the post after accusing me of attacking Christianity.

FYI, incase others have this idea as well, I did not write the article.

Religion is under attack from all quarters as secularists pit people of faith against one another. We must try permit religious freedom in every country. There is people trying to stir up hatred and we should be wary of what the media tells us. Try and always read between the lines. All Muslims do not hate Christians and Jews, all Jews do not hate Christians and Muslims, all Christians do not hate Muslims and Jews. We are all Abrahamic religions, we have a history in common, we may disagree with each other but we must respect each others beliefs. Do not let secularists or power hungry people who use religion just to their own benefit win, we must stand up and show we are not bigots or narrow minded people brainwashed in our faith. We must show it is exactly because of our faith we are good decent caring human beings who love one another and care about our fellow man.

Can you please read the article and understand how this speech, while I agree with it, is not necessary in this thread. At least not directed to me or Mr. Obeidallah.

The author who wrote this has a Christian mother.

If you don't take offense by the title and actually read the article you could see that it does not attack Christianity in any way.

You can go through every single on of my posts, you will not find one where I ever say something offensive about Judaism or Christianity, or any other religion, no matter what the so-called followers of these faiths say about Islam. And they have said A LOT. Why would I start, unprovoked, when I have gone this far respecting all faiths?

It is foolish to judge a religion based on it's followers, and not the actual teachings of the faith.

If we can all just read the article before responding, we may actually see what it is being said. And not get defensive over nothing.

I could agree with you but for 1 small problem. This war between christians and muslims started long before any secularists got involved.

IMO, the best way to sort all this out is for all christians to go to the holy land, live with and play soccer or something to settle which religion is favored by God/Allah. The winner is the chosen religion.

Okay. Fine. But I ask again: Where are the good Muslims. Where are the Muslims marching in the street against the 9/11 attackers. I do not see them.

Yes, IT IS high time religions stand up and denounce radical wings of their sects.

Lack of doing so has tarred muslims in a very damaging way.
It has done so for christianity to some extent. But the roman catholic, RC, is a large voice in christian views does have similar beliefs to what the article states about the radicals. They don't say gays should be killed, but certainly would like to keep them in the closet.

There isn't. And that is his point I think.
If radical RW in the US, who hijacked christianity, don't get held in check, the future will look grim for christianity.

It figures you'd go into a gay rant.
We expect gays to do what all sinners should do: Recognize their sin, and "sin no more."

Off topic. Feel free to start another thread asking this.

The only way this article involves Muslims is the Christian preachers who spread hate against Islam. Somewhat like you. Ironically.

And do you think Christians should speak out against those calling for them to be killed? I think that is one of the points Dean is trying to make in this article.

There is, but I don't want to help defensive Christians stear this thread off topic. Making threads on this forum is easy and free, no excuses to highjack threads.

If you read the article, you would realize that homosexuality is actually on-topic, meanwhile all of your posts couldn't be farther from the topic.

Let me know when you sin no more.
    I won't hold my breath.
Hardly ranted. As it was one of the features in the story.

Both religions are full of hatred. Christians suck just as much as muslims IMO. The only difference is. In america. Its the christians who continually make things hard for non christians. Not the other way around. And the Catholic church is one of the biggest groups of crooks and sexual predators in the world.

Yep. Dean Obeidallah, recent convert to Islam, is quite the comedian. Unlike Islam, Christianity is not a political system. He should know that but then his agenda wouldn't be served. He also should know that Christianity is a vast house with many different denominations under one roof but once again his point would be lost.

Never the less, people are entitled to their opinions.

BTW Christians have a six hundred plus year start on martyrdom over Muslims. The difference is Jesus taught love, Mohammed taught violence.

Not everyone gets it. For an excellent example please refer to the Pharisees.

    Shalom.

Let us know when you've given up being both judge and jury.

As you have judged, so shall you be judged but by a much Higher Authority.

Excuse me but just in case you slept through all those History classes in grammar & high school, the US is a secular government. See 1st Amendment to the US Constitution for details.

As far as the rest of your comment goes, all I can say is your ignorance abounds.

Not anymore. But for a few centuries it certainly was.
The US was begun because of christian political system in Europe.

Judged? How did you come to that conclusion?
Because I said let me know when he won't sin any more? Is there any but one who will be without sin? That is judging? Isn't that a fact?

The US divorced itself from England. Let us not forget that various religions were persecuted in Europe. Why do you suppose that the very first amendment of the US Constitution deals with freedom of religion as much as establishing a secular government?
