Yes, there was. Not sure why anyone believes the 1994 ban was necessary or had any effect whatsoever..
You are 4.8x more likely to be murdered with a bladed weapon than a rifle of any kind. You are 1.5x more likely to be murdered with a blunt weapon than a rifle of any kind. You are 2.2x more likely to be murdered with a person's bare hands than with a rifle of any kind. Thus, rare.
the problem with these accurate factually based arguments is that they assume that the people who are debating are actually motivated by stopping crime. They are not. that is why sound arguments -such as the ones you have made-have no impact on the BM. They main goal is banning honest people from having guns or "pretending to do something" about crime to salve the yapping of low wattage voters who scream for instant government solutions, every time there is a tragedy
Maybe we should come up with some good language for a narcotics ban! How do we word it so that people no longer do drugs? How about a ban on speeding? We can post signs everywhere and finally solve the speeding problem. (More dangerous than guns!) It takes a special kind of stupid to think that criminals will obey gun laws. Ths pretty much sums up what you are trying to say:
Someone on this or the other forum mentioned Russian assault troops and I immediately thought of 8-2-8s.
Well, considering that "assault rifles" are used for less than 2% of gun murders, there is really no need to have an assault weapon ban.
Even more telling, "assault weapons" used in mass murders account for about 0.1% of all gun homicides per year, on average, and have an easily substituted functional equivalent in handguns. - - - Updated - - - I said I thought of it. I didn't say I thunk good on it
good people shouldn't be prevented from owning something that the government thinks is so important that it issues to thousands of police-merely because of what criminals do
If the constitution was properly enforced, such politicians would be barred from holding public office
Grenades are legal under NFA with the proper paperwork etc. Go to your local batfe office and ask them for the forms required to sign up for a class 3. Then you'll need to go find an ffl then you'll need to search sites like gunbroker and follow the law and fill out the paperwork. And spend a truly staggering sum.
according to the Hillary and Gabby Giffords, any Walmart On the serious side just getting the ATF license for the launcher is time consuming and relatively expensive, getting the ammo will set uou back another 200 dollar license per round if you find a local Sheriff or Chief of Police in your area who is willing to sign off on you owning one
I was reading up on this the other day. Seems the hardest thing to do is find someone willing to sell you the ammo, even if you have all the paperwork and approvals.
