According to the big, long list: List of TCP and UDP port numbers Port 80 for HTTP and Port 443 for HTTPS But I wouldn't play around with the Firewall rules unless you know what you're doing.
I only use computer to view web pages/youtube/, and write emails, doc files. + I use printer, I turn the firewall on. view XXX videos. so for the basic use, we only need two ports? Port 80 for HTTP and Port 443 for HTTPS
Well, I don't know if they should be left open. That's why I said you shouldn't mess with your firewall settings if you don't know. I'd get an antivirus software suit that protects your internet security. Then it will monitor your ports looking for anything suspicious.
I am guessing you mean you use those as outbound ports to view your "xxx" videos outbound is not a open port per say, it's opened, just by you, but I would stay away from xxx videos as never know what kinda virus's you might catch .
Thanks for answer, I need a yes/no answer for the following question. ------------------------- I only use computer to view web pages/google images/youtube/, and writing emails, wring doc files. and I use printer, I also turn the firewall on. for that basic use, do we only need two ports? 1) Port 80 for HTTP and 2) Port 443 for HTTPS
it's not a yes or no answer, do you mean incoming, outgoing ports, not sure what your really asking if you block port 80\443 for outbound, you will not be able to surf many web pages for inbound you do not need those ports open at all unless you are running a web server for others to browse you pc .
