One thing I've seen that seems to be a trend with culture that doesn't seem to shift is the way bachelors are depicted these days people just call them in cells and that's how much content there is for men who don't get married

In the 50s and 60s they were portrayed as kind of suave and having good taste now they're portrayed as lonely sad alcoholic idiots that would do anything for a woman.

It's almost like there's this societal conditioning that needs to be accepted that tells us we're all supposed to do this one thing.

It was that way for women probably up until the late 80s when they managed to make it all the way to the corporate world and they're not just housewives and moms anymore I can be or do anything a man can be or do and that's fine but men need to have that opportunity.

Hopefully, our Society will evolve to a point where negative generalizations or Hate Speech against any birth group are unacceptable.

    1) Paradoxically, in most non-Western Societies, and in the West prior to 1990s, both genders could be criticized equally. Reluctance to criticize women but not men is not a symptom of Patriarchy.

    2) I guess you are right. My opinion was in place by 1998.

    They are all sexist.

The main reason the ones against men get a pass is for the same reason racism against white people gets a pass. Another reason is as Joe suggested; women are seen as weaker and more in need of protection. That's a sexist outlook that leads to prejudice against both men and women. It is patriarchy (I hate that term).

White people are a majority in USA. Men are not a majority (44% voters) .

White people are not punished more harshly for the same crime. Men are.

Men are considered the historical repressors. Women only got the vote recently, etc etc.
