As far as I have learned, and as far I am aware, most people agree that there are three big political philosophers that have influenced the world to such a degree, that their influence can be seen everywhere you go today in our modern societies. They are Locke, Hobbes, and Rousseau. Personally, I agree most with Thomas Hobbes, in the sense that I think the governments ultimate duty is to keep order. Now, I think he takes it a little far and becomes borderline authoritarian at times in his views. But I view his ideas, at least to me, to be the most appealing. What Do You All Think?
