I find it hard to believe that politicians are not on this list. Number 1 and 2 should be reversed too. http://theweek.com/article/index/251957/which-professions-have-the-most-psychopaths
They are mostly incorporated into "lawyer" I think at #2 which does not surprise me. I do find it interesting that surgeon is on the pychopath list but doctor is on the not psychpath list. I would have expected psychiatrist to be on the naughty list since it seems like psych majors in college are mostly crackpots looking to understand themselves.
Surgeons are the ones who actually do the cutting up though; my nephew's girlfriend (who is a nurse) told me that she wasn't surprised; surgeons look at the body as rather something like a car, something that's a bit necessary to them in order to function I suppose, and when you disassociate yourself from the person like that it makes it a bit easier to go all the way with them, so to speak. I was a bit surprised that teachers are on the nice list at number seven considering all the nuts I work with! I wonder where community organizer ranked?
Most of the listings make sense. In some jobs empathy is a hindrance and in some it is a benefit. I am guessing if you are a CEO or a lawyer or some such thing and are also a very empathetic person, you probably encounter a lot more job stress than your less empathetic colleagues.
A lot of sociopaths also love being in a position of extreme power over others. There is few more direct positions of power (that are legal) than one that allows you to slice people open and literally hold that persons life in your hands.
They are nuts because they actually care. I was a teacher for many years, and I have worked in the education field for my entire career of over 40 years, Most teachers actually care about those they work with, they frequently lack social skills, they don't know how to get along to go along, and they tend to be poor schmoosers. Surprisingly many are introverts. But one thing they do have in common, they don't last long if they don't care about their students, those that don't care walk away very quickly.
