Mr. Trump, he said, is looking at the pandemic from "the perspective of the economy and reopening the country."

Billionaires Want People Back At Work, Even If It Kills Them | HuffPost

Same with the Democrats. They all voted for the multitrillion-dollar bailout of the corporate-financial elite last March, "while allowing minimal aid to the millions laid off in the pandemic to expire so as to increase pressure on workers to return to unsafe workplaces." - Benjamin Mateus

Yes, the CARES Act Really Did Induce Premature State Reopenings

For his part, Joe Biden has proposed little more than encouraging people to wear masks. Moreover:

Joe Biden's Campaign Is Making It Very Clear: They Will Push Austerity in the White House - Jacobin

"When we get in, the pantry is going to be bare," said Mr. Kaufman, who is leading Mr. Biden’s transition team.

So these are our choices. One candidate advocates wearing masks and the other mocks it. That's it.

I want people back to work, and I'm no billionaire (I'm often a thousandaire).

Millions more are dying in the third world from starvation due to the global reduction in productivity that results from our fear of a virus that is only dangerous to the already sick and old.

Even if you're a sociopath and don't care that folks in other countries are starving to death (arguably the worst way to die), it should be a wakeup call that the supply chain that feeds our 1st world groceries is at risk. They are simply the first dominos falling.

We're starving more folks even now than are dying from Cvirus. More shutdowns will make it worse. This is the epitomy of the 'treatment being worse than the disease.'

You're not asking yourself how can the government just inject trillions of $$$ into the market like it's nothing. Look into Modern Monetary Theory.

Turns Out Mass Death Is Bad For The Economy - Huffington Post

"In truth, reopening the economy was never really about containing economic damage. It was about maintaining a social order in which wealthy people enjoy leisurely economic gains while working people are subjected to various forms of abuse and exploitation."

Ya, print more money. It gets the rent paid. Rent goes up over the next decade, but the immediate problem is solved. The next problem will be worse, but it'll be 'someone else's' problem (our kids).

Some great propaganda to distract from the simple reality- if we're not making the stuff people need, then its running out.

Not the way it works. You're never going to agree with a TEMPORARY shutdown no matter what. 400,000 Americans are projected to die by January. That's more than 8 Vietnam wars. It's not gonna stop there. If we were invaded by a foreign power there would be a shutdown.

How long is temporary? If its a predetermined length of time after which we re-open no matter what, then I'm on board.

If its 'until we say so' then ur absofuckinlutely right I oppose it. We already played that game. Still playing it a year later.

All of this, they have no plan, they have no direction. They just want to wack-a-mole the virus and using these statistics in order to justify "doing something". Well, doing something fruitless is worse than doing nothing.

I think the plan is to keep us shut down until either the economy collapses and we beg govt to save us by replacing our rights with permits, or we vote in a political establishment that will do it. If we do, Cvirus deaths will magically plummet (as they stop counting heart disease, stroke, diabetes, TB and seasonal colds and flus as Cvirus deaths).

The greatest deception our govt and corporate elites ever concocted is that they 'don't have a plan.'

If we were invaded you’d sit in your house in isolation? Surely you jest.

I would suggest that the decision on whether an approach to a disease is "fruitless" should come from medical science.

Leaving health related decisions to GOP criminals who line up with GUNS on the steps of the government of WI seems, well, so STUPID it's freaking hard to believe.

    Odd!

Just a couple months ago, it was Trump who was claiming "Cvirus deaths will magically plummet" and simpy disappear at Easter, or the Spring, or the high heat of summer and so on.

But now, according to Republicans, it is the "Liberals" are the key of plummeting Covids.

The Right Wing is very confused. Or something....

I guess I can see how some ppl would be confused by individuals within a group not all pushing a unified narrative or having the same beliefs.

This executive branch has a plan. It's on whitehouse.gov. It was created by the CDC, other medical experts and reviewed by significant members from the business world.

The only problem is that Trump refuses to implement ANY PART OF IT!!

The issue isn't whether we know what to do. We have been informed over and over and over again what we need to do.

The problem is that instead of doing that, far too many listen to Trump and refuse to take the rational actions promoted by medical science to get our economy up and running.

You can't blame that on Dems. Dems don't control Trump. And, Trump absolutely HATES science. He's been on his own on this from the start.

The result is that today we have more infections per day than we have ever had since January.
