The Trump administration has taken a very unusual step in its efforts to hide the ethics waivers it has granted to ex-lobbyists: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/22/...e-house-government-ethics-lobbyists.html?_r=0 And what would a Trump story be without yet more proof that Trump lied his ass off? Remember "Drain the swamp?" Guess that was just another one of those Trump lies. And he's trying to hide the evidence by refusing to disclose who is getting waivers. Make America Corrupt Again!
It's pretty much a given that whatever the birther-in-chief says the opposite is actually the truth. Especially when he says this...
In before someone posts a link, to a right-wing story on how Hillary killed Seth Rich. It seems to be all they have left these days.
In before people close to the source, people we know inside the white house, or seeking confirmation of reports Isn't asinine argumentative style fun?
I'm surprised the Times even bothered to put the above quote in their story. Other than that, who cares about this story other than Trump haters.
A copy of the actual letter is available. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3727995-OMB-Director-Mulvaney-Letter-to-Office-of.html
And without the legalese, it says: "Hey, we think you guys are overreaching, and we're requesting you cease and desist until we can make sure this is within the scope of your job." Nothing wrong with that. Carry on with the gaslighting.
One of the major planks in Trump's campaign platform was "draining the swamp." So why is his Admin trying to quash requests on lobbyist activities of Admin members?
Trump totally conned his supporters............they lapped up the BS like it was sugar. What a sad state of affairs America has become when people voted for this greedy liar.
Problem is, the request is CLEARLY within the scope of the OGA's job. So this is nothing more than an attempt to avoid transparency. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligence...s-war-on-the-office-of-government-ethics.html Indeed, that link has a nice summation of Trump's approach to ethics and "draining the swamp": Sign an executive order prohibiting all lobbyists and industry lawyers hired as political appointees from working on issues that involve their former clients. Appoint many lobbyists and industry lawyers to political positions throughout the federal government. Grant many of these lobbyists special waivers that allow them to work on issues that involve their former clients. Refuse to publicly disclose which lobbyists received such waivers, in unprecedented defiance of an Office of Government Ethics request. Argue that the federal government’s ethics watchdog doesn’t actually have the authority to police the administration’s ethics. Trump sure seems to be doing a bang-up job of "draining the swamp" and being all ethical and stuff.
This about sums it up nicely......doubt you will get anyone disputing the facts so you will be left with denial and distraction.
