This is the Washington Post folks, not Fox News. Biden's stance is in serious trouble. Why does he absolutely refuse to even talk about cutting spending?

The Washington Post’s Jeff Stein reports that the White House has been surprised that business groups and budget hawks that it thought would be in its corner in this fight are instead siding with Republicans.

We should add here that much of the media is taking a similar approach to those outside groups. We’ve noticed television news anchors and reporters asking Democrats why they don’t just try to find a middle ground with Republicans, questioning whether Biden’s position is sustainable or asserting outright that it isn’t.

This isn't a bright WH. Fish get stupid from the head down.

McCarthy Is the Adult in Room on Debt Ceiling Negotiations

    upload_2023-5-9_18-44-12.png

While the Clean House has passed a bill, Joe just screams "NO!", as the Dem Senate wanders about aimlessly in a daze.

'With Democrats on tilt and a President stuck on “No,”' Joe bumbles toward 'default'.

CLEAN HOUSE IS MEETING THE CHALLENGE

'in just over four months as speaker, with 38 legislative days in Washington, the House has passed 71 bills, including the Limit, Save, Grow Act which increases the debt limit, reduces future debt needs, slows inflation, and spurs economic growth.'

    LESS DEBT, MORE GROWTH!

'On the other hand, the Senate, under Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer’s leadership, has passed only 22 bills in 44 legislative days, excluding commemorative resolutions, and has shown as little interest as President Biden in passing a debt ceiling bill that commits to responsible spending.'

    THE KEYS TO MCCARTHY'S SUCCESS

'Speaker McCarthy works respectfully and reasonably with members on both sides of the aisle in a relaxed, friendly manner.'

    THAT WILL USUALLY WORK

'Speaker McCarthy and his leadership team smartly operate under the golden rule: treat others the way you wish to be treated.'

'Federal spending increased 40% from $4.45 trillion in 2019 to $6.21 trillion in 2023'

THE CLEAN HOUSE BILL IS THE RIGHT APPROACH

'In a few weeks (or months, if the President foolishly believes he will benefit politically from unsettling the economy further), the debt ceiling will be increased, spending will be moderated, inflation will start to be addressed, and President Biden’s extreme anti-growth policies will be curtailed.'

'In a world gone crazy, bet on the resilient, calm guy from California relentlessly pursuing popular goals in a reasonable, responsible manner.'

Biden just routinely assumed he could increase spending trillions after trillions and it would not phase anybody. Turns out he was dead wrong, not surprisingly.

Biden and the Dems Reckless Red Ink Orgies have doubled cost of servicing the National Debt, just since Biden took office. It's now nearly as expensive as defense spending, at almost $T/yr

Biden, who was installed by a corrupt Cabal in the rigged 2020 election, seems to have finally caught on that he will have to negotiate some spending restraint with The People's Choice GOP clean bill to increase the debt limit by $1.5T

Dems in Disarray: Flailing Biden Is Losing the Debt Ceiling Showdown

'Republicans are the only ones to have passed a debt limit extension bill, the crux of which is popular with voters. According to recent polling from battleground districts,'
    • "77% favor reclaiming unspent COVID funds,
    • 62% support enhanced welfare work requirements and
    • 53% support reducing discretionary spending to pre-pandemic levels."
'Democrats have resorted to outright lying about the bill, claiming that it requires cutting veterans' benefits, which is simply untrue. Politico reports on the current state of play among Democrats, and one word that comes to mind is...disarray:'
