White Leader Limbaugh Befuddled By Bond

The white leader Rush Limbaugh seems to be a wee bit confused about James Bond? He thinks that James Bond has always been "white and Scottiish not a black Briton". Aside from the embarrassing silliness of it, exactly what actors portraying James Bond - aside from Sean - does he think were Scottish? You'd think a white leader would know his tribe and people better.

The better question is, why exactly do blacks have to be used in remakes of films that originally had white leads (Bond and Annie)? Personally I couldn't care less, but it's kinda curious, since I don't think the opposite has ever happened.

 

I'm not a Limbaugh fan.........but he's right on this. Having Bond portrayed by a black actor would be like George Clooney playing Nelson Mandela or Leonardo Decaprio playing MLK...........political correctness silliness at its best........but the 'powers that be' in Hollyweird will ram this down our throats just like a black redheaded 'Annie'

Maybe you should think about getting a new leader if he doesn't know the difference between Welsh, English, Scots, or Irish. I mean, we wouldn't his credibility to suffer would we?Just a thought.

 

The Welsh, English, Scots and Irish are pretty similar folks.........not so much an African.......I can actually immediately see the difference between an African and someone from any of the UK countries........it's like night and day........black and White........but you knew that.

James Bond is white. If you understand anything about fandom then you would realize that the reason people might have a problem with this isn't because of racism or bigotry, but because it's changing a character that people love into something that character isn't. It doesn't get anymore complicated then that.

 

I vote for Jackie Chan to be the next James Bond.

I've been a Bond nut all my life... I own every movie and every book, I even operated a fansite in my youth... I personally see no problem with Bond being played by a black man. More important is his personality - he needs to be suave, reckless, lethal, uncompromising, intelligent, etc. So long as the actor is hired because he does it well, than why would his skin color matter?

And Flemming based Bond off a British Secret Service agent. I'm assuming you were upset with Connery being casted as Bond as well, correct? Elba is British.

And not to mention Flemming sold the rights to Bond to a production company. They can cast whoever they want.

I would say let America make their own version of Bond instead of trying to hijack the character. Like Doctor Who, I'm a huge fan but I would never ask for the character to be portrayed or acted by an American because he belongs to England. You respect the fan base or walk away entirely.

 

Yep.......it would even more 'cool' if the woman James Bond was born as a boy named James........but had an operation to become a 'woman' named 'Judy'..........'Judy Bond'........I'm getting my tickets now! I really hope that Hollyweird pulls this stunt and loses their ass financially.
