I wonder why we still don't see any woman's face in the mines. As I have already pointed out, you are a "Champagne Socialist" and thus only think gender-and-diversity-quotas are cool if they affect the fancy jobs.
Actually, it has never existed. It is only now, when our ancestors have worked their butts off to build what we have, that some spoiled intellectuals with hidden agendas have time to complain about trivial bs. Life is tough and it is always easy to think that grass is greener on the other side. In reality, every single one of us is "privileged" in some areas and "unprivileged" in other.
This is EXACTLY why so many non-white people flock to the west. Unfortunately, our white middle classes and elites have had it so good, for so long, that there is no longer any memory of struggle or danger. They are like spoiled children, reduced to soiling their own bedding out of boredom and hubris.
You're quite right, though I do think that whitey had it pretty good last century, in comparison to POC in white nations. And it's that very privilege which gave them the idea they're entitled to manage the lives of the coloured folk (and calling it Compassion). Currently, this is the very worst example of White Privilege that I can think of. They can't see it, which is remarkable to me.
I noticed how you left poor whites out of your rhetoric, meaning you even passively admit it is class privilege not color privilege - you just don’t have the integrity to concede. Uplerclass blacks are doing fine, middle and upper class Asian Indian and Whites are doing fine; it’s people in poverty that are struggling reguardless of their skin hue.
The point was that it's the middle and upper classes who soiled their bedding (re-introducing identity politics etc). The working class whites still enjoyed privilege last century, but just not enough to turn on themselves.
They were lucky, they had cheap black and female labor to help the “work their butts off” and they reaped the rewards
YOU ARE NOT FIGHTING AGAINST RACISM .. you are CREATING IT!!! And you're doing so from a position of WHITE PRIVILEGE .. your own 'worst possible' basis for comment.
I didn’t say they turned up racial groups against each other. I just pointed out that racists always blame the person who fight for equality as the real racists and it’s bullshit.
Of course . I have white privilege and I don’t pretend there’s no racism. Why is it always the most bigoted people who accuse people who fight for civil rights as the bigots. I am sure you’re going to say Gloria Steinem was against women’s equality.
No one here is denying there is racism. However, you attribute racism to an entire racial group which makes you a racist too. Racism only exists on the individual level and these individuals are, by the majority, regarded as the crackpots that they are. There are no structures oppressing non-Whites and Whites are not oppressors. If you want to fight racism, you should either find a racist and have a conversation with him where thy try to see where he is coming from and then tell him how he is wrong or you just ignore him. Talking about how racism is evil with people who already know it is evil is useless.
There it is again, playing semantics, .racism is a generalization...so I guess I will have to single out joe smith down the street and the black guy who has a good job and ms, Jones etc. Believe me in my line of work, I meet plenty of racists. Why is talking about racism with people who agree useless? No it usually leads to action. Think of the consciousness raising groups in the 70s where we all knew about sexism and took action
You are the one distorting the semantics. Semantics is extremely important because if there is no consensus on what it is that is being discussed, a discussion can never be held and no solution can be found. Right now, the term "racism" is so inflated that it no longer means anything. And yes, you do have to single them out because an individual is never representing his whole collective. Thinking so is purely barbaric. Because that will cause more conflict and/or not change anyone's mind.
Nothing like a white guy telling black people that the term racism is no longer meaningful.. When there is a movement you cannot single out every single person. When we had the woman’s march in DC it was a collective. Not every woman thought the same . There is a difference between generalizing and overgeneralizing
You are not American so you have totally different experiences and certainly can’t speak for African-Americans though you think you can
Tell me what you think of my bigotry. You, who are white .. probably married a white man, raised white kids, probably has almost exclusively white friends, and no doubt lives the white middle class lifestyle, safely in the west. Tell me, who's lived with non-white people ranging from pitch black to pale caramel, for my entire life .. and who mixes with every colour of the rainbow (and some with applied rainbows), and has lived in VERY non-western nations, speaks a non-white language fluently, and has studied the human condition for 30+ years. Go ahead. Meantime, the reason you see this (what you call bigots accusing others of bigotry), is because in 2018, the really dangerous bigots are those who claim to be fighting bigotry. It wasn't always the case, and certainly in the 1960s it definitely wasn't, but it IS TODAY.
Ive taught minorities for more than 25 years and lived in multicultural neighborhoods my whole life, No the real bigots are not the ones who claim to be fighting bigotry...that’s what real bigots say..they attack the messengers so they can debase the messages . You see I would guess that the reason you harbor your prejudices is because you were not happy living in a non-white neighborhood for your entire life.
I don't live in a non-white neighbourhood, but thanks for the entertaining attempt to save face. You can't win this one, Renee. You need to update your attitude to 'minorities'.
Were you lying when you said you lived in non-white neighborhoods your entire life? It’s funny you make the accusation that I wouldn’t know about non-white neighborhoods but I Don’t have the sophomoric need to accuse you of “attempting to save face” because I did and still do
I did not say that. You're making stuff up again. Honestly, what is with that? Why do you do it? READ what I wrote, please.
