I guess Biden thinks that people of color are monkeys. https://www.foxnews.com/world/who-rename-monkeypox-mpox-biden-admin-request Sources said that senior Biden officials have consistently urged the WHO to make the name change and have threatened to adopt new terminology without WHO's approval. According to the report, Biden administration believes that the name "monkeypox" carries an unnecessary stigma for people of color.
Good to see a Faux News Story (for once) based on Rock-Solid Info: three anonymous sources Personally, I see no problem with the name change...
Ooooh, my, gooooood. You have to be a racist to even connect a disease and someone’s race. This is hilarious.
Since the earliest days of the current global monkeypox outbreak, scientists and public health authorities have been calling for the disease to be renamed, arguing that it has racist overtones and carries a stigma that will hinder efforts to stop its spread. In mid-June, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said his agency agreed, and would be working with partners to rename the virus itself, the disease it causes, and the two clades or strains of the virus, each named after the parts of Africa where they are found. https://www.statnews.com/2022/08/01/the-campaign-to-rename-monkeypox-gets-complicated/ Sure, you can blame Biden and the woke left - but they are simply responding to the request of others.
Imagine being so racist they think it has racist overtones lol. honestly the left just creates fake racism when convenient. Especially considering racism is such a small issue, and the majority of what little does exist overwhelmingly targets white people.
The is going to be followed by the name change of Chickenpox to CPOX. Another win for the poultry lobby.
1. I object to the term POC because it’s not inclusive, some folks are not represented and that’s racist. 2. Look at the below picture and tell me what you see. I know what Biden sees, but how about the rest of the left?
The only stigma that's hindering efforts to stop its spread is the government and media's reluctance to be open and forthright about the reality that it is overwhelmingly a gay STD.
There's not really much point in it you're extremely low risk if first you're not a gay man and second you're not having random sex with a whole bunch of different people. It's extremely limited to that contingent so just not really much need to focus on it outside of encouraging gay men to take precautions.
From where do you get your news. Everything I read, from the beginning, stated that gay and bi men were contracting it faster than any other group. Who's hiding that info? The Dems don't attach a stigmas to being gay - that's Rep territory.
