Many presidents of the USA throughout history thought that making more federal agencies is a great way to extend federal power past its limit proscribed by the Constitution. This is why you have the trigger-happy DEA kicking down doors for botanical crimes, the FBI censoring foreign websites thinking their jurisdiction is the whole of the www etc. Once you lose your data, you can't get it back. Your secrets and skeletons and all that, cannot be kept secure, as is required by the fourth amendment. All manner of corporations, bureaucratic agencies have it and can copy it over a trillion times and sell it to five billion more people now. We are no longer secure in our papers and effects. Now if you want to run for president thirty years from now, hopefully whatever you may have overstated on your facebook page during your drunken stupor doesn't come back to bite you in the arse. This is the only reason I can see why the Obama administration behave like puppets. Anybody ever know of a CIA people getting charged for any crimes? Dating back in all their decades? I'm just wondering, because I can't think of any. But seriously, what is going on here? Obama is clearly humiliated here, in front of the world, especially Germany. Why are Obama and his NSA (or the NSA) still spying on Chancellor Merkel's own staff? Like the torture of detainees, this surveillance is another thing that Obama merely pretends to confront but doesn't. But it seems a liability for him now. So why? Is Obama sinister, and in on some conspiracy that many of us know in our heart is clearly there, or is he just a yellow-belly pushover? Few people like Obama, but I want to explore why he's actually behaving this way. It doesn't seem to be stupidity, like you could argue for many things regarding Bush Jr. But if it's due to evil, which could be the case, Obama will go down as one of the great menaces of our time, like Stalin etc. But I can't imagine this. It has to go way beyond. Can someone please explain? And it's not just Obama, though his behaviour seems the oddest, but it looks like they've got the courts including the Supreme Court and that court in NY they always abuse, plus the broader congress, also by the balls!
The answer to the thread title question is, if it's good news Obama is in charge but if it's bad news we're gonna have to have an internal investigation, stone wall the Congress and the American people, demagogue the issue and call it a phoney scandal, and wait for the MSM to kill the story by not asking an questions or doing any stories about it.

As I have said repeatedly we now live in country that is of, by, and for the bureaucrats and the people be damned. The leftists got their wish the country day to day is run by a cadre of experts, I hope you're happy.
The Deep State came into it's own under Reagan and Bush I. Don't kid yourself, Conservatives are just as much to blame, since they are the cheerleaders for the Financial interests which are the true masters of the Deep State.
Don't truncate your history. The architecture of the deep state was 90% in place by the end of WWII. It was a creature of a Democratic party that thought Hitler and Mussolini were just fine until the Spanish Civil War.
I would like to see your evidence (contemporary from the period) of the claim that the Dems were fine with Hitler and Mussolini.
Read Jonah Goldberg's excellent "Liberal Fascism" It'll answer that for you in a heart beat chapter and verse and heavily foot noted. It is amazing to watch the American left spin their opinion of Adolph and Mussolini on a dime the minute the Spanish Civil war starts and it becomes clear that H&M and Stalin were on opposite sides. And people wonder why the left was thought to be in League with Stalin.
