As long as Muslims don't infringe upon my liberties and respect the laws of the land I have no problem.

Not really. You are not even in the near of the spirit behind a rule like "If someone hurts an eye then he should [be able to] replace the eye". What would you do if you would cause an existential crisis of a beliefer?

As I read it, slaves and women were the major supporters of Christianity, which tells us quite a lot. Paul believes in humanising slavery, but Paul also believes in various odd things. Do you think Jesus approves of slavery, and if so where?, because I don't. And he couldn't have appeared any time but one in the last 2.000+ years, namely from BC5 to about twenty-five AD or thereabouts. Iolo is not into religion, FreedomSeeker, honest, and thanks for the compliment.

The fact he got up and walked. If he didn't, or at least if his followers didn't believe he did, what give them their incredible drive? They should never have done a deal with Constantine: Rome was buggered! We could have had socialism and the end of slavery unbelievably earlier without that sick deal!

So you want to bash on Christian beliefs? Okay. You've got the right to shoot your mouth of as you see fit.

But you realize that Christians and other religious types will see your lack of belief as something equally silly.

I think you have yet to acknowledge that there are forces which we do not command at present, let alone quantify and categorize.

This is what religion attempts to do, but you can only do so much and teach so well a limited three dimensional mind capable of only linear thought.

No it is Biblical study so you should, I don't know, read the Bible before you personally attack me.

Since I don't believe in Jesus as God I could care less what you think. But morally is not what you define it to be.

Well I appreciate it but people who turn to simply name calling won't fair well if I decide.

I am sorry you seem to think that Downs Syndrome is so horrible, how you niece doesn't see this because you are using her as a level to insult. As for understanding the Bible it helps to actually read it.

    again your ignorance is stunning....

Quite possibly the most intelligent question asked in the entire thread.

Ok, so do something for me that should be super easy: just prove, to the level that we need to convince people in a court of law (a jury-level of evidence), that one particular "god" even EXISTS. Go ahead, there have been tens of thousands if not more. Should be pretty easy. I await your proof.

I can prove to you that *I* exist, so how about you prove to ME that the most powerful entity of all time exists, like you claim? If you can't then obviously I'm more powerful than this "god" of yours....obviously. Good luck. Ready, go!

    1. I admit I'm silly, because I don't give my kids a book that believes in Unicorns so very very much, that they didn't just put it in the bible once, not twice, not three times, but TEN times (because 9 wasn't enough, apparently.) So who is the silly one? If you believe the supernatural stories in the bible (unicorns, Noah got Kangaroos, living inside a fish, a magic talking dead carpenter, etc.) then you are no more sane than the lunatic in the mental institution who believes in talking squirrels, etc.

    2. There likely are indeed things we don't understand, but that doesn't mean that a talking dead guy from Nazareth is the answer!

Mohammad instructed them to fight until Allah's law is the only law of the land. They want Sharia Law. They want to kill Elton John, because Mohammad said to kill gays. They want to cut off women's thingees because Mohammad approved of that. They want to hang you if you dare question Mohammad having sex with a 6 year old child (and when she was 9.) They are INSTRUCTED to "infringe upon my liberties". Go ahead, ask a Muslim: "was Mohammad wrong to advocate cutting off my brother's hand if my brother is just caught stealing?" Go ahead, ask them. You'll change you dhimmi tune once you simply learn the truth.

    Yes, Jesus accepted slavery: http://www.evilbible.com/Slavery.htm

Jesus was morally warped, clearly. Iolo, you are more moral than Jesus....don't sell yourself short. You are better than he is. I believe in you more than I believe in an invisible friend in the sky. Doesn't that make sense?

    They are atheists like me:
They don't believe in the following "gods" because they make no logical sense:
    Zeus
    Appolo
    Nanook
    Odin
    Wotan
    Thor
    Shiva
    Krishna
....there have been roughly 200,000 "gods/prophets" in world history.

See, I just believe in 1/200,000 fewer gods than they believe in. We're 99.999% in agreement. But if they don't believe in all those gods, then they shouldn't believe in their own god, because their own god is clearly not more provable than those other gods.

I had a friend Zara who freely wore her hair covered while her mother and sisters did not.

Not every single one is a fundamentalist (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Like I said, if they respect the laws and rights, I have no problem.

Man will always find a reason to fight each other. Religion is just an excuse.

I bet Zara had this underlying, subconscious belief (religions seem to prompt this belief - indirectly) that, at least indirectly, it's the WOMAN'S FAULT if she is raped, so she covered up.

Because of his take on his religion, Australia's #1 Muslim cleric likened women to 'uncovered meat': http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...uslim-cleric-likens-women-uncovered-meat.html

So do you believe that people who believe in a talking snake, a talking donkey, a talking serpent, and a talking dead guy are sane?

So what if a person you are interviewing for a job at your company, actually believes in a talking, say, squirrel ("I was talking to a squirrel yesterday and he encouraged me to apply for this job at your company"). Would you not hire this person because he clearly needs mental help? A sane person wouldn't hire him. So what's the difference in only believing in a talking squirrel, vs. someone who believes in the FOUR talking things as above? You think he's MORE sane for only believing in one "talking thing"? I'd love to see your logical reply (vs. an emotional/illogical/religious one.)
