I notice that many of our homosexual forum members post about abortion. All agree with killing the unborn child.

It strikes me as curious as to why those who live a life where they will not sire their own children are so interested in wanting the unborn babies to be killed?

It really strikes me as curious

This is like fundamentally asking, "Why should men have an opinion on abortion if they'll never get pregnant?"

I would venture to say that because this is a political discussion forum, and women's rights are a viable political discussion.

Should folks in society only be limited to talking about things that preconceived stereotypes dictate are interesting to them? Or affect them? You don't have to be a mother, a woman to be concerned about the freedoms that affect only women in this country.

I had not noticed that (about homosexual members here). I guess because I don't know - don't care who is and who is not gay.

But if your observation is true... I find something else even more curious about their participation and especially their support for abortion remaining legal.

Suppose someone were able to develop a prenatal test for homosexuality so that children predisposed to be gay could be aborted (as children suspected of having Down's Syndrome are often aborted)...

I wonder what our gay members would think about that.

Are you suggesting that a gay person's opinion on abortion has no merit? I hope not

    Are you kidding me?

I was trying to make the case why they should be more concerned than heteros are.

How can you not have seen that?

Nobody, with children or without, is interested in "wanting the unborn babies to be killed." What is curious is how you identify "homosexual forum members." Is there some sort of registry on the forum that I have heretofore missed?

Let me ask you again, does a gay person's opinion about abortion not matter? If your answer is no.please explain why.

Seems like a basic and simple question.

How can I word this so that it removes all doubt?

As a minority group that could face extermination by genetic testing and targeted abortions.... I think their opinions matter a great deal.

Ban abortion because someone might abort their potentially gay offspring? That is like saying free speech should be banned because it might offend homosexuals and therefore they have a vested interest in censorship. No matter, either you have the right to abortion or not.

I didn't say that and you know it.

I only said their opinions matter and I explained why they might want to reconsider their support for legalized abortions.

The reason it should be banned is because it violates a child's Constitutional right to the "equal protections" of our laws.

Calm down, I never said you did. However, you are implying homosexuals should though and I am pointing out the fallacy of it.

I think it is more important to change the culture of bigotry through public dialogue, as opposed to criminalizing specific rights because it might serve to disadvantage minorities...wouldn't you agree?

    Wow....Sounds like a definite maybe.

Extinction by genetic testing?? Well no one can say you don't have creative flair.

    Enjoy your weekend Chuy.

If abortion is to remain legal - would you have a problem with someone developing a prenatal test to detect a predisposition for homosexuality and from them offering abortions based upon that trait (like they do children with downs now?)

As long as it isn't institutionalized, why should it matter to anyone if abortion is used to target a specific gender, race and etc? I wouldn't agree with someone having an abortion if they found out there were going to give birth to a biracial/homosexual/female child but that is the right I have afforded them.

Just like, with free speech, I have afforded people the right to make ignorant comments which may hinder minorities.

    You have afforded them?

What did you mean by that?

I suppose, and perhaps I lack a better mean to define it, these are rights which I have granted to them based upon my own personal philosophy.

Do other mortals have that power (to grant rights) or are you exceptionally qualified for that power?

    A little disturbing, maybe.
