Why is American Indian ancestry so rare in Brazilians, but in other south american nations (venezula, ecuador and columbia) a majority percentage of the population is mestizo and has some native blood?

In 1500, an estimated 11 million Indians lived in Brazil but 90% were wiped out mainly through diseases imported by the colonists, leaving only 1 million indigenous Brazilians within the first century of contact. The majority of Indians live in the Amazon where they could maintain their tribal lifestyle without being interfered by the European settlers. Approximately 80 groups of uncontacted peoples in Brazil still live in the Amazon and interbreeding with the newcomers was not as common as other Latin American countries.

So why do the majority of Brazilians not look white, if the Indians had very little interbreeding with the settlers?
