    7,000 deaths currently.

Flu claims 250,000 to 700,000 annually.

Ummm yes, very good. However, the danger is too many needing critical care at the same time.

the reason is simple, speed of infection rate and overloading the medical system... they need to slow the curve

Not even 10 out of 100 become critically sick. Most of these people would just call in or go about their day, and they'd be just fine, along with most everyone they've come into contact with. But since we're all in such a panic, we flood the hospital the moment something seems wrong because media has been blasting us with fear. If it weren't for that, medical staff could focus their attention on those who for whatever reason may ACTUALLY die from this.

I've heard more like 15 out of 100 but even at 10% how many concurrently sick can we care for before we're overwhelmed?

I agree about the people panicking too. Our doctors are going to need to deal with all of the idiots in addition to the people that sorely need their care. It's a dire situation.

Kids in daycare experience hundreds of viruses. They’re coated in germs.

    They’ve seen it all before.

the hospital is the last place most would go unless absolutely necessary, as that is one of the surest places to catch it, I would cancel all non-necessary medical appointments and reschedule if were me

as for the idiots that go in when not serious, nothing doctors can do, they just gonna tell you to go home and self-quarantine, meanwhile others there may get infected by them

course some businesses requiring people to get confirmed for proof, so going forward there may be financial benefits to being confirmed and Trump said he was gonna help people that contracted the disease... without proof, would they?

It is a dire situation, but we're making it worse.

I've been a fan of drudgereport for well over a decade, but I've stopped because that site has become the worst fear mongering site of all. Drudge has become worse than normal media in this regard, and they should be ashamed. They're not informing people, they're peddling fear and panic.

The best thing everyone can do is just relax... practice good hygine, avoid crowds, don't add to the hysteria... there's not much else to be done.

I completely agree but I think in addition to avoiding crowds, practicing good hygiene, and relaxing (I have 15 gallons of homebrew to help me weather the storm  ) I think we all need to stay home as much as possible.

15 gallons? That's definitely more of a risk than this virus

I agree though, people should temporarily isolate as much as possible. A virus is going to do what it's going to do. It's going to run it's course until it runs out of hosts, or we're able to start inoculation. Still makes sense to slow the process by isolation. This thing is absolutely lethal for some, but we're fortunate that the immune system of the average person is more than sufficient.

Many are DNR and wind up getting nothing more than morphine in the nursing home.
Most of these patients could get blown over by a gentle breeze.

    Italy isn't treating them

Only 7,000 and it's been going on since mid fall.
There has to be tens of millions infected world wide.
It's been here for at least 46 days. It's popping up everywhere which means likely millions infected. The death rate is very low.

We're closing down the country and harming hundreds of millions of individuals because a few thousands who normally die from respiratory illness may die from respiratory illness.

    Full on retard

DNR means do not bring them back from death, not to not treat them

    get educated.
It means no life support. Most DNRs at nursing homes are DNR CC. comfort care only.

Yes, I understand, just like Trump said and now has changed his tune. He never said the disease was a hoax. Please try to pay attention.
If you're writing a logical program that is true. In law, a fact is something that can be proven universally.
True, but I didn't say anything that is false.
    No, that's a fact
And yet the medical world does not agree with you......but what do "they" know.
