Why Conservatives are so nasty

They don't get laid enough.

It all goes back to the 60s - the dorks that watched the "hippies" smoke dope, laugh, have sex and enjoy life while they turned their noses, are still full of resentment because of all fun they missed out on.
Their lives are miserable, and they don't want anybody else having the fun they are missing out on.

The nasty, anorexic, skank Ann Coulter ADMITS she is a virgin. (I think she's actually a transvestite and is an adolescent boy undergoing puberty, which is why her voice "breaks").
They pursue the acquisition of money as a substitute, but the adage "money can't buy happiness" rings true. (Money can, however, prevent a lot of misery).
It's a theory, but I think it has merit.

 

McConnell and Pence are married.
Millennial are reporting they've had less casual sex than previous generations, but are more liberal on many social issues.
This theory doesn't have very much support.

And you accusing Ann Coulter of being a "transvestite" is pretty conservative.
Not to mention that if the theory is true, then there's a simple narrative you can paint of the left being composed of nothing more than hedonists who are too busy ****ing abortions into eachother to care about the real world.

There is a book that has been out for a very long time--It is called "The Town That Took A Trip", it is about someone putting hits of acid in a town's water system & how it affected the townspeople. But,yeah, the GOP could benefit from lightening up ---ALOT

Talking about how nasty Conservatives are, and in the same post, being extremely nasty to them. Can you say "hypocrite," boys and girls?

 

I don't understand the point of trying to paint a percentage of your fellow citizens as "nasty." This is what's wrong with our country. Seriously. 60% of the country has demonized "them" to the point where you find them evil. I don't understand, at all, why it's so difficult to celebrate what we have in common and work towards solutions to where we differ.

I can't imagine how much it must suck for most of you - you hear a story and you have to quick run and get the talking points memo to learn how you should feel about that story. Every single issue is a partisan issue, now. We no longer have anything in common. (Well, we have more in common than not, but most no longer act like that's true.)

Pathetic. I can't even begin to imagine how I could continue to live in a country where I think 30% of my fellow citizens are pure evil. Yuck.

 

Well, while that is funny and it feels good to slam them in that way, I actually think there is a different explanation. It's pretty common knowledge, I believe, that conservatives are a dying breed. They're being replaced by intolerant extremist righties. And they are "nasty" for other reasons. Mainly they are intolerant and abhor compromise: they want it all and they want it their way. And secondly, they are known to be all about authoritarianism. Intolerance and authoritarianism are relatives. And so they intolerantly vent their intolerance on those who resist authoritarianism. They can't stand diversity and interdependence or cooperation. And with the growing population of minorities they feel like they are "losing their country" because they are. And they sense they are about to lose their world of authoritarianism they are trying to build too because most resist it.

How can they not be "nasty" given that scenario?

 

Chill. It's the intolerance of the extreme right that is putting up barriers. You know as well as I do that the left has a reputation for being tolerant. That is one of the main criticisms of righties about liberals. But liberals aren't going to agree to become intolerant just to please the rightie extremists. Rightie extremists aren't "conservatives" any longer.

The left wing is only tolerant of people with their views. They preach about the right wing "hate" but there's nothing the left hates more than the right.

They are very quickly devolving into the party of hate. I see very little in the way of tolerance from the left, unless you are in one of the approved marginalized groups.

Personally, I abhor labels like "Right Wing" and"Left Wing".

I take people with differing political views at face value.

I don't stereotype people opposite me on the political spectrum.

At an internet site (such as PF) it is inevitable that there will be a higher percentage of overt partisans.

(Many of them abject trolls, with an overwhelming majority of the partisan trolling coming from the RW Fever Swamp pushing the agenda of the day).

But, I (personally) take an even-handed approach.
