Let me just say that I am not a democrat nor am I a republican, I am currently a libertarian. But I am sick and tired of the ridiculous mud slinging that's going on between these two parties. Now the mudslinging is going both ways, but the ones, in my view who are slinging the most mud are the democrats. I am sick and tired of democrats or leftists, whatever you want to be called or call it or them, using ad hominem attacks against people of the right and I am sick and tired of the left constantly using militant and violent tactics in order to gain their political agenda. If you want to have an actual intelligent debate with someone on the right you can't just call them all idiots and anti intellectuals. That is anti intellectual to do so.
Why, because if you're afraid of open and honest debates using facts NOT emotions you demonize your opponent...

The far right and the far left both demonize each other. Anyone who says this is one sided is a moron. NRA37922 is correct in saying that it's about a fear of honest debate, but wrong that only the left feel that fear. The end goal is simple, make the their own side look good, and the other side look bad. They will oppose good laws, and push bad ones, just to make that happen. The days of working together for the betterment of the nation are long dead and gone. Now days, anyone who doesn't think like you hates American and wants the country to fall. The word will be a far better place when all of the fake patriots are dead.
It's because the modern left more closely resembles a religion, than a political position. ESPECIALLY at the elite end, and at the Progressive level. These people are technically ideologues. As we all know, religionists and ideologues traditionally depend upon demonisation. They have not arrived at the position of Leftist Progressive via pragmatics and critical though, they have arrived there via feelings and a hunger for validation of virtue. You simply don't have the tools to defend your position, when you don't critically understand why you've taken the position in the first place.

I'd absolutely say that applies more to the right than the left. And since neither of us has shown any actual evidence to support those claims...we're both right...and both wrong. In other words the discussion needs to be ignored because it is based on nothing
