Brady has worked very hard to be where he is. He is lived such a clean life with respect to constant training and diets the year round that most people could never maintain. He is not the most gifted football player in history, but he has to be the most dedicated.

They voted for Putin, didn't they? It's not like you couldn't see what he was before he took office.

The Russian culture has always been dominated by Tsars and dictators. It does not seem that there is much of a movement to change it.

I know that the Russian people as a whole have an intense desire for "order". It is this desire that has inevitably led them to support some of the worst monsters in world history like Stalin.

Unfortunately more than a few under dogs prove to be nasty rabid little mongrels whom the world would be better off with out. Easier to first examine the evidence and then decide who is worthy on a case by case basis.

Without the ability in we h. sapiens to root for the underdog, professional sports as we know it would not be possible. How would a team such as, say, the New York Jets put fannies in the seats without it? Or the Knickibockers? Or . . . you name them.

Regards, stay safe 'n well . . . 'n root for your team.

If there were a cultural change toward freedom and democracy, as there has been in Germany and Japan, that majority of the Russian people would have overwhelmed the thuggery. It hasn’t.

Back in the days of the USSR, for every kgb agent over seas there were ten spying on the home front. Ex KGB agents openly run the country, virtually every Russian oligarch is ex kgb. Interesting most see themselves as Russian patriots even as the line their pockets at the expense of the Russian people.

Sounds like what the Democrats and their allies in the FBI, CIA and DOJ want to do here. The story is unfolding with Twitter files, but the main stream media won’t cover it. The main stream media is really the government controlled media.

Because we identify as the underdog and these stories give us hope. David VS Goliath.

He is well liked. He is considering running for president. His campaign will be about reducing inflation!

Because in order for human beings to accomplish the task of simple pro-creation they must have an irrational drive to triumph over adversity. Life is hard. Living knowing that can be harder. If you want to be good at it you have to admire the will to face and overcome the impossible. You have to do that despite all the evidence that it's impossible. This virtue is embodied in the underdog story.

The unlikely person overcomes the impossible barrier and triumphs over adversity. We like that story because it gives us hope we can do the same with our own barriers.

I know TCU is an underdog in the upcoming CFP playoff game with Michigan, but maybe because I am a Texan and don't want northern Yankees to win.

But to your point, we were the underdogs in our war for independence. So, it is natural in our psyche to root for underdogs in sports and in most things.

To put a finer point on it. There's a virtue element to the underdog story that is key. You don't root for someone just because they are likely to lose. There's lots of examples of people who were unlikely to win that don't quite qualify as underdogs.

You root for them because you think they should win. You have to sympathize with what they represent first.

Obviously, but this is question about an overarching sentiment, not individuals.

Underdog is in the eye of the beholder then. To some Hitler is an underdog(people with mental illness like paranoia). To others Israel, to others Trump.

Do we like underdogs more because they have to struggle to win?
Or do we not trust/like winners who are automatically assumed to win?

american "merchants of death" sell weapons to the saudis and israelis, not to the yemeni and palestinian underdogs.

Yes and I searching sentiments produced racist gas chambers for Jews and a whole host of other evils I'll take facts and cold hard facts every time. Somebody wants to root for the under dog in a sports matchup, that's fine but I'd recommend they not bet their lunch money that way. Not unless they plan to skip lunch more often than not.

:roflol: wow. Your assumptions reveal you know nothing of liberalism. What's happening in Russia is the definition of our far right, and fascism. What America would become if Trump were allowed to steal power.
Those CIA, FBI, doj members were appointed by Trump if you recall.
Why you think Trump and so many of his supporters are rooting for Russia.
    So there goes that narritive.
