How is South Africa pretty bad? It has a higher standard of living and more stability than other sub saharan african nations.

then why does south africa have less poverty and more stabiliy than other african countries? There's a reason there are no significant immigrant communities in Congo or Somalia, because nobody would want to move to unstable places like that.

 

firstly, the location. it is perfectly situated to become a thriving and utopian place, southern tip, away from all of the 'trouble' and a perfect climate. however it is far from a leading light in Afrika, it has a lot of its population living in shanty towns and has a real problem in sharing out the wealth as 80% of the land is owned by a tiny minority, the dutch and english, who dont benefit the nation as a whole.
