Why does Iran hate us?

I see a lot of commentary in the news by a wide range of people deploring Iran and its animosity toward us. Does anyone out there have a clue what cause that hatred? I know the answer, but I'm curious if anyone reading this knows. I assume there are a few who do, but I predict most don't. I'm interested in seeing what you (any and all of you) offer as commentary here. Thanks.

 

Start with the overthrow of Iran's elected government by the CIA and the unmitigated support of the Shah and his horrific atrocities against his own people.

Work your way forward from there.

 

"Why does Iran hate us?" - because the Qur'an and Islamic texts and Mohammad's example SAY to hate non-Muslims. Just like Jesus' example of sending all non-Christians (no matter how hard-working or ethical they might be) to be burned in a "lake of fire". Pure hatred.

No country in the history of the world has stood in the way of the Qur'an's dictate to make the whole world Islamic more than America has - so of course Muslims hate America.

As George Bush was fond of saying they hate us for our freedoms. Seriously though a better explanation has to be as stated above - we're not a Muslim country so it's their supreme purpose in life to hate us and kill us whenever they think they can get away with it.

 

Same reason as Russia, China and why Iran has joined them instead of the west.

They didn't want to kill them in war, our governments did.

 

Why wouldn't Iran hate us? We deposed their elected government and installed the brutal Shah. Reagan sold poison gas to Iraq to use on Iranian soldiers, who fell by the thousands. We shot down one of their airliners full of people. Bombarded their oil rigs with our Navy ships. Regularly cruise up and down their coast every day with Navy ships. Surround them on two sides, with our military in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't see the Iranian military or their CIA messing with our affairs, much less threatening our borders with the most powerful military in the world. And now the Big Cheeto in Washington has banned Muslims from seven countries, with the stroke of a pen. But hey, we have to create our enemies, to pimp the next war.

 

So why doesn't Turkey hate us? How about Indonesia? Surely the country with the most Muslims would hate us most, no?

By spending the last 35 years threatening to overthrow their government might have something to do with it.

Imagine, it's 1981 and you're a 15 year old Iranian kid. Just, really, beginning to understand the world around you. Today you turned 50 and have spent your entire adult life under the threat of a US military strike against your home. You've watched the US invade Muslim countries on your east and west borders overthrowing their governments and causing, now, 15 years of constant warfare.

Now combine that with your history lessons and what would your attitude be?

Well, at least the OP might be the least bit curious. Try google, and then some papers by historians, make up your own mind from there. We can thank the Brits and Americans for a chunk of it though, the democratically elected government of Iran was overthrown in 1953 because the Iranians had the gall to nationalize their oil industry. The Shah was returned to the throne and repression & oppression were the order of the day. The US was a huge backer of the Shah and his regime, including lessons on how to torture, suppress and other not so nice activities. I think even one of the Roosevelts and stormin' Norman's relatives were involved.....

The bottom line is the people of Iran, as a whole, are not so much pissed at the US, the theocratic regime members that run the nation are a bit annoyed though. The US has worse trouble in the Gulf and the ME than Iran, it just hasn't been figured out yet.......a better question might be why does the US hate Iran?

 

You don't understand that the Islamic texts say to fight us until all worship is for Allah.

The US shot down an Iranian passenger airliner with 274 people on board over IRANIAN AIRSPACE.

If that had happened with roles reversed in the US, it would have been immediate war.

Ironically, while the US conceded that it was a mistake, they never apologized to Iran.

Good map.. Currently Iran is sending Shia settlers from Iran, Iraq and Lebanon to repopulate Syria.

 

Iran used to do business with Israel.. up until 1979 Israel bought all their oil from Iran.. Remember Iran has had a significant Jewish population for 2500 years.
