Why does Trump poll higher than all other Republicans still?

I understand conservatives and Republicans are likely to pick any Republican over any Democrat (including Trump over any Democrat), but I am curious why they would still choose him over other Republicans, especially as others are given media attention so people know they are running.

Any righties here care to give their thoughts? Is Trump a candidate you are happy to support? Or the best of a bunch of bad options?

In contrast I do understand why so many Democrats support Biden over other Democrats. It's because they are not aware that there are any others running against him (the media and Dem party refuse to spotlight anybody else or hold primary debates etc).

Figure out why Trump outpolls Bribed Joe and you'll have your answer.

My guess is spite answering the pollsters but I am no "rightie". It is part of the reason modeling will replace polling inside a generation.

No, that doesn't answer the question. The question has nothing to do with Biden. Of course you prefer any Republican over Biden. That's not the question.

In what sense? He did more of what you want than any other Republican would or could? What did he do that they would not or could not?

Because Trump is now fully aware how the Establishment of both parties work to enrich themselves and weaponize agencies to ensure it's continuation. He is beholden to none and frankly, he is zealous to end it. So are many Americans that have been crying out against open borders, nation rebuilding, appeasement and corrupt foreign aid for many years.

One reason is because Trump is a proven man of action who put the USA first when he was president. Too many politicians try to straddle the fence and just talk pretty. Trump is the man many voters are looking for when they say they want to replace most politicians. And many voters can plainly see how the political establishment and the media is trying to ruin Trump because he will derail their gravy train. And to sum up Trump's popularity -- the voters are smarter than they are given credit for.

This is why I'm voting for Trump. I like DeSantis---but if he puts Americans first like Trump did---he's going to be going through the same fire---targeted for political and personal destruction. Trump has gone though that fire and is still fighting.

Picture Trump as the common cold and Biden as Super Aids. Most logical thinking folks will chose the cold any day of the week. Also, not super impressed with the other candidates accept for Nikki. At least she has the brains to know that abortion is a losing issue for the right.

Same reasons, I suppose, Hilary is to win in a landslide 1 week before 2016 election.

Why have R's been losing ground in every election after 2016?
Why have most trump backed candidates been losing elections since 2020?

Sure it does, I could cast a vote for a D candidate if he or she appealed to me, or realistically lied to me the best ;)

Because of the minority vote, the answer to why they do is and has been obvious since

It is easy, Haley and Christie have announced that the are attached at the hip to the DC cabal that is slowly destroying the country and trying to castrate the people. Pence always was the other people who have already dropped out left the same impression or would never have gotten anywhere any way. That leaves Desantis and me too is never a powerful campaign stratagem. Frankly I'd prefer Desantis, he brings the same stuff to the table and he is younger. Unfortunately he isn't going to win. That leaves Trump vs whoever and whoever is going to be Biden or Hillary. Assuming either is still alive by next November. By the way same goes for Trump.

Yes it does. Of course I prefer RFK or Trump over Bribed Joe. We've seen Bribed Joe's work, he sucks. He always has. It's not just Republicans that prefer Trump over Bribed Joe, it's also Independents. Everyone but Dems prefer Trump. Figure out why and you'll understand why Republicans prefer Trump.

I think the others have answered your question about Trump, which leaves me to ask exactly who are these Democrats that are running against Biden?

There aren't any, nor would it matter. Dems are going to keep running on the same failed policies that Biden's handlers are pimping now. Pretending those policies and his presidency have been a success is why they're stuck with him. The only way another Dem actually runs is if Biden drops out, and then you'll get more of the same.

I am hesitant to answer your question because the REAL and ONLY answer is frowned upon by mods.

So, on a different and completely unrelated to this question: do you remember when people lined up with their children to drink Kool Aid because Jim Jones asked them to?

There are two alternatives to choose from: Trump or Biden. That's the reality understood by anybody who understands what's going on. Biden is ok. Just ok. I can think of at least 20 candidates who would be better, but none of them are running. I could sit here and dream all day about voting for Gavin Newsome or Michelle Obama.... But that's just not going to happen in 2024

No, it doesn't. Reread the OP. The question presumes any Republican over Biden. The question is why Trump over the other Republicans.

That's a good point. I think its a big reason he won the first time too. He positions himself as outside the entrenched insider political system. Harder for him to make that argument this time around, after having been in office and gone along with and hired on / kept on many of the insiders, but still he appears more outsider than the others.

None that I think would beat Biden for the nomination even in a fair treatment by the party and debate stage, as the Republicans are having, but we can't know that for sure since the Dem Party and media are blocking them and giving them no real opportunity to speak or debate Biden.

As for who is running? Marrianne Williamson (further to the left than Biden; similar to Bernie Sanders), Cenk Uygur (a joke), and Dean Phillips (more of a traditional Dem like Biden himself).
