    THEY ARE IDIOTS!!!

    Ted Cruz.....Idiot Extraordinaire!!

Freakin' guy say's...."Oh...we will just carpet bomb ISIS in Syria!"

Cruz is so ill informed he has no idea that ISIS has integrated itself into civy communities.

You know I never paid any attention to Cruz and fortunate for us all he is irrelevant...BUT...how did a complete MORON like Cruz ever get to the level of running for President??

Of the 4 I've considered over the past year, he never was one of them!

As one of the gals on Outnumbered said,"He comes across like an "insincere televangelist".

Like I said I had absolutely no idea what Cruz was about until another member posted a Video of Cruz doing his whole Evangelist thing.

    I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!

The first thing that came to mind is HOW a guy like Cruz could even hold public office never mind run for President????

The guy is completely coo coo for Cocoa Puffs!!!

And his lack of knowledge is SCARY!!

It always makes me chuckle when people in here (normally Far Right or Far Left) just make assumptions of who we are, and why we serve. And I have noticed over the last the last 30 years that it is growing more and more every few years.

Today, you have the Far Left, who either see us as fascist thugs, semi-literate morons with no other job potential, or people who joined to avoid prison. And on the Right, it is those who think we are the jackbooted thugs of a pending Police State, who will smash in their doors and take away all their toys. And I have no real use for anybody that holds radical beliefs.

But it is interesting, how more and more often then when I first enlisted (1983), I am meeting "Military brats" who are wearing the uniform, and less and less who simply put it on because they had other reasons. In a great many ways, the military is almost becoming a "family job". And I would say at least 50% of those I served with that are my age and have kids have kids that are going to join, or have already joined the military.

So I fear that detachment is only going to grow more and more, as the number of people who have close friends or family in the military grows smaller and smaller.

Interestingly, that individual also missed most of what I said in my post, as well as the satire and sarcasm that I thought I very obviously filled it with. Oh yes, some of what I said was very true and heartfelt, but other was of course an exageration.

Kind of like how I called it a "manifesto", then later stated that I hated manifestos. Does anybody honestly think I put that in there by accident? Those that know me in here should know I do very little by accident. And even as intoxicated as I was the night I wrote that, I consciously did that on purpose.

But most of all, what I hate is dishonesty. If you (in the generic sense, not you personally) are going to make claims, reference them. If you are going to make claims that somebody said this or that, quote them. Do not just jump in, giving your own twisted interpretation of what they said, then expect others to just jump up and applaud what you did. To me, that is no better then lying. It disgusts me, it is dishonest, and I hate people that do things like that.

Myself, I do not hate civilians at all. That would be stupid, since all of my immediate family are civilians, and of my extended close family, only 2 others are even veterans. None of my kids are in the military, and very few of my coworkers now are even veterans. So anybody who thinks I was accurate there without the disclosure I made in I think the 3rd line that qualified who I meant is a complete moron.

But it is nice to know that some in here admit that there are civilians who hat ethe military, and they seem perfectly fine with that. But get upset if there may be even a slight bit of return. Talk about a double standard.

Trust me, it looks nothing like that today. Just take a gander at it with Google Earth, and you will find that the fields that most of the aircraft were parked in are now empty fields. The current President has ramped up the scrapping of our Reserve Fleets (air, sea, and land) to an extent never seen since the end of WWII.

I first went to DM in early 2008, and saw tons of aircraft. I went again in late 2008, and saw about the same.

I went back in 2011, and saw that huge areas that had aircraft in my previous visits were empty. And every year or so when I check again, I see less and less aircraft then before. It is kinda like watching the mothball fleet near Benicia shrinking every few months.

I used to see BUFFs fairly often when I was deployed, as well as Lancer bombers. The noise is impossible to describe.

Remember, I am not political at all.

But in Iraq and Afghanistan both, we have used "carpet bombing" a great many times.

Remember, in the modern use of those words, they do not mean just the random attacking of cities and factories with fleets of bombers, trying to level everything. Today with Laser Designators, GPS, and other technologies we can "Carpet Bomb" an area where a Regiment-Division worth of troops are dug in at, and hit them with a few dozen bombs with almost pinpoint accuracy when they are away from cities.

So when you hear those words, do not think WWII. Think of like how we literally "carpet bombed" Iraqi units during the 2003 invasion.

As far as Carpet Bombing we have used both Dumb Bombs and Smart Cluster Munitions in Iraq and Afghanistan and I know all too well how effective a number of B-52H's flying in formation can be upon an enemy.

What I was absolutely shocked about is a video another member posted showing Ted Cruz spout some of the biggest idiocies I have heard yet.

I had never even herd Cruz speak until that moment but his combination of Evangelizing along with his incredible lack of knowledge specific to our Military capability absolutely chilled me to the bone that a candidate with so little knowledge could make it as far as he did.

He was making a general statement that we should go into Syria and carpet bomb the ISIS and this statement by Cruz is not only idiotic it really shows how a Politician can possibly create a policy and strategy even though the use of such a strategy is not possible.

Although the vast majority of American's are Moderates there still exists a number of Ultra-Left and Ultra-Right who for some reason that is beyond me seem to still have a hold on our Political Parties.

But soon enough they will end up on the scrapheap of history.

Remember hearing stories of captured Iraqi troops who were asked what they feared most in the war, and they answered the B-52's-----did high altitude bombing, and b4 they were heard, all of sudden 'out of nowhere' stuff started blowing up all around them.

During the height of the Viet Nam war, US active duty troop levels peaked at 3.5M whereas today they are about 1.4M.

My age military were about 1 in 3 who served during the Viet Nam era; and so, many of my friends (who made it back) were vets and had much in common. The universities were full of vets using the GI bill, and mostly were 'ignored' by the young population in the universities who were against the war.

We were flying way up at around 50,000 feet and the Iraqi Soldiers used to say they feared the STEEL RAIN more than any other weapon as well they feared the A-10's.

We used to and still do drop dumb Iron Bombs and when you have a whole wing dropping 72 of the Dumb 500 lbs Bombs in formation accuracy is not something you need to worry about because those B-52H's dropping those bombs in a large formation will absolutely decimate an entire swath of country and if the actual explosion doesn't kill you the PRESSURE WAVE will.

I saw Iraqi's and Taliban who were dead on the ground with their bodies completely intact from the outside but they all had blood coming out of their eye's and noses but other than that they looked fine.

BUT.....the pressure wave literally ripped their internal organs right off their skeleton.

When a person is hit by an Arc Light Pressure Wave the entire human body is moved in an opposite direction to the incoming pressure wave SO FAST that the Kinetic Energy Transfer passes into the body and through a persons flesh which in effect is mostly comprised of WATER and when the Kinetic Energy reaches the Skeleton it MOVES THE BONES but the body flesh and organs being mostly water cannot move as fast and as the skeleton is forced to move so rapidly the organs and flesh do not move that fast and they are in effect ripped off the moving skeleton.

So although those Taliban and Iraqi Soldier's bodies looked fine except the blood coming out of their noses and eye's.....in reality their internal parts and organs were a bloody mess.

Another reason why not to put too much trust in "civilians"-----Hillary Clinton & the State Dept et al cant hold up to the Security reqd by some of the low-grade Military personnel entrusted with our nation's security!
