Yes, it is only 'allegedly', but since when was this not justification for coverage? Does anyone doubt what the media's reaction would have been if the races were reversed?

The liberal media is too busy faulting whites to bother defending even one white man who was set on fire in his own home by two black teenagers. Ironically the leftist media is majorly white. I suspect their racial betrayal is somehow a manifestation of their own inner prejudice against blacks which they presume to balance by offering up other whites in general as a sacrifice.
