Why Isn't CA Fireproof?

    The Santa Ana winds were gusting up to 80 mph. They are also suffering extremely dry conditions. There is nothing you can do to prevent the spread of fire under those conditions. It might as well be a hurricane made of fire.

    Consider that cars burn too.

    That is melted aluminum that was flowing like water. So it was over 1200 degrees F.
