Why should we help red states?

A friend of mine in Washington was complaining about hospitals in Idaho shipping critical Covid patients to them because Idaho hospitals are overwhelmed. Idaho is another one of those States full of free spirits who now want to put those "liberal" medical workers, hence the rest of the population in Washington at risk because they [people in red states] were idiots.

It seems the spirit of freedom evaporates when you can't breathe.

Trump loves to threaten Blue States for doing nothing more than following science. And red states not only put that bastard in office, they tried to do it again! Why in the hell should we sane people on the West Coast help red States? They wanted to be free spirits. So be free!

Not wearing masks and social distancing is kind of the ultimate, "Let em die and screw them ...", so forgive me for thinking your
post is pure bull crap.

But every state - red or blue - should be doing all they can to help other states. It's just a shame that some people don't have the common
curtesy to have the same attitude about wearing a mask as they would about wearing pants.

 

Red states would just as soon they were left alone. Problem is blue states cannot overcome their obsession with people who don't agree with them.

 

Can WA hospitals simply say 'no'? They should be able to if we valued states rights. Of course they wouldn't, rather they would just make sure they're getting fairly compensated, which I bet they are now anyway.

 

So that means I can expect to NOT see all the snowbirds from blue states in our town this winter? After all, unneeded travel in a pandemic is selfish and risky to others, right?

the reality is, Nursing Homes should have separated infected people, they failed to do this, hospitals could not give up a bed for everyone that showed no symptoms and tested positive, not enough beds

If I recall my history correctly the Red States tried to leave the union back in 1861 but the Blue States weren't having any part of it. It was called the first US Civil War you might have heard of it. I think some groups are trying to start another one (not my job to keep track of it).
