Why was the 2009 pandemic not taken ANYWHERE NEAR as seriously as COVID-19?

Why did it require Obama to get the facts to the experts? Did the experts not operate independently?

His point was simply that the Dems are politicising it. Which they are. I mean you can't be pushing GREEN policies as part of an emergency rescue bill and not be considered to be politicising it! :roflol:

    Which was what exactly?

And do what did he to?

Are you talking about this memo which has been revealed?

Is this mentioned in the NBCLA article that you posted?

Sorry, can you rephrase the question? I acknowledge that English isn't your first language.

You are talking about H1N1 in 2009 / 2010 and what Obama did otherwise as Trump now, right?

    OK ... facts ... H1N1:

The CDC reported the first two cases of infection by a new H1N1 human influenza A virus in the United States on April 21, 2009. These were two children in San Diego County and Imperial County in California March 30 and 30, 2009 were ill. On April 24, 2009, eight patients were ill, including six in southern California. On April 29, 2009, the CDC confirmed the death of a 22-month-old Mexican child from Mexico in Texas.
At the end of April 2009, more than 400 schools were temporarily closed in the United States, and President Obama, in a letter to Congress, advocated $ 1.5 billion in funding. The money is to be used to replenish stocks of influenza, to develop new vaccines, to control and diagnose other illnesses, and to support international efforts to limit virus transmission.
In the south and southwest of the United States, which was initially primarily affected - on April 27, 2009, Governor Schwarzenegger imposed a state of emergency over California - activity declined in the summer, while the virus continued to spread in the cooler northeast. New York was particularly hard hit: By June 2009, 6.9% of the population, half a million people, most of them within three weeks of May, and more than 20 had died. Epidemiological estimates have resulted in at least one million cases across the country.
In May 2010, the CDC released an estimate of the deaths. According to her, between April 2009 and April 2010 there were at least 8,870 and a maximum of 18,300 deaths as a result of the H1N1 pandemic.

    COVID-19
The first COVID-19 case in the U.S. was in Washington State on January 15, 2020 - coming from China. On March 8, 2020, there were confirmed infections in 32 of the 50 states plus District of Columbia; the number was given at least 554, of which 213 plus 11 deaths confirmed. By March 24, the number increased to 44,183 confirmed cases, including 544 deaths. Infections have been identified in all states. On March 27, 2020, the United States surpassed the People's Republic of China with 86,000 people who tested positive and was the country with the most COVID-19 cases. On April 8, the WHO reported approximately 363,230 positive test persons and 10,850 deaths for the USA

    Difference is:
    a) Obama reacted directly within 1 week after the first cases were known ... Trump need nearly 2 month for it and for the first he called Corona a election campaign issue of the Dems, remember?
    b) H1N1 brought according to CDC max. 18,300 death within 1 years ... you have now wtihin some weeks 10,850 cases! That makes in 1 year how many cases maybe?

yes, sometimes Presidents get facts before the public, Trump should have acted on that intelligence rather then trying to hide it

trump called the dems and the media's concern about the virus a hoax, that was long before the stimulus bill, you know that right

Trump has talked about an infrastructure deal to stimulate the economy as well, yes, sometimes things not related to Corona can stimulate the economy - dems support this too, but sadly many republicans in Congress do not

you act like Trump is useless and has no power to do anything, just because he doesn't do anything positive, doesn't mean he does not have the power to have an impact - he chose to do nothing but lie to the public, that was Trump's choice

    In relation to what?

"His post." Trump? What post? A tweet?

I really doubt that 62,984,828 Americans pray, or are members of a church.

I give up, if you don't want to admit Trump removed the watchdog from oversite of the stimulus, fine

Again, are you talking about the memo which has been revealed?

I know that he called the dems and the media's concern about TRUMP'S RESPONSE to the virus a hoax. If dems and the media literally only said that the virus is a concern without referring to Trump's response, how the hell would that be an attack on Trump? If you think that the media and dems are capable of referring to the virus without CONSTANT reference to Trump, then you are simply mistaken.

Are you able to link the green policies that dems were pushing to stimulating the economy? You're doing better than me if you can!

If this is in response to my last two questions, then I don't see how it relates. I was asking what Pence did that Trump didn't do and also what Trump did after "Pence looked more Presidential than Trump and was getting more attention than Trump."

No, I mean the positive stuff which Trump constantly takes credit for - do you think that he can take credit for it?

Several sources ... German one and American one. For example CDC reports and messages about H1N1 and I think that CDC is a trustful source, isn't it?

So absolutely every good thing that is happening in the country that he has taken credit for in all of his past State of the Union addresses, you think that it is totally justified for him to take credit for it all?

Trump was riding Obama's wave, Trump was continuing the new normal

the economic trend was up when Obama passed the economy on to Trump, what trend will Trump pass on to the next President

this is now Trump's economy, not doing so well

we will have to wait and see in January 2021 what Trump's beginning and ending unemployment numbers are, how much debt he created and what the economy looks like

What I mean is, how is a president the one who is personally responsible for debt?

He signs or vetos the spending bills. If he signs the spending bills then he is responsible for the debt they incur. If he vetos the spending bills and Congress passes them over his veto then Congress is responsible for the debt incurred.
What spending bills did COVIDIOT Tramp veto? If none, then he owns the entire debt incurred.
