Why we oppose training requirements for firearm ownership

we have correctly noted that the constitution delegated the federal government ABSOLUTELY NO POWER to interfere with what arms private citizens can keep and bear, own and use, carry buy, trade, barter, etc

 

Are those quotes from the Constitution?

I think most gun owners support training. The issue is requirements.

 

agree-it is idiotic to carry a firearm for self defense and not know how to deploy it instantly and accurately.

 

Safety is an attitude it isn't something you can be trained into. Either you check you fire arm before you store it or you take it for granted.

 

It is amazing to me how people just believe what they see on tv

 

My Da and my uncle started drilling firearm safety into my head starting at age 5 and one credo was every gun is always considered loaded unless personally inspected every time it is handled by you; never accepting another’s word for its condition under any circumstance, and when I teach gun safety I have a way of reinforcing that principal, by demonstrating me showing an empty gun then before handing the gun to a trainee, having them guess if the gun is still loaded or unloaded, after which I, pointing the gun down range, pull the trigger by slight of hand, I have loaded the gun. The result is often a surprised trainee that never forgets the lesson. Another training technique I sometimes use on the rang is having a trainee insert a long dowel Rod with a red flag in the barrel as a immediate visual reminder of where the barrel of the gun is pointed; this often helps beginners become more aware of where their barrels are pointed at all times.
Gun safety must become simultaneously conscious and unconscious.

I agree with you yes it's about training and making these things automatic but I also think there's a component that people lose sight of and that's not being complacent. And the way I do that is I think about the fact that I can very easily kill somebody with this.

 

Yeah the place where you learn all the wrong things but it looks pretty cool.

I wonder how many people would think you could bum rush somebody when they have to change your magazine.

 

I can’t tell how often I have seen via Hollywood depictions that sow unloading a semi auto by simply removing the magazine…. Good instruction, that.

 

My favorite is the 19 shot revolver. You're the little peekaboo game that people play when they're behind cover. Jordan how close people get to the wall on a corner when they're after somebody.

 

In addition, they try to make it impossible to find somewhere to practice.

 

Don't forget also that any requirements can be used by government (either local government or national) to collect information, and there does exist the possibility that information could be misused.

 

I am still looking for the magic gun and the magic bullets.

years ago, I believe it was MAD Magazine had two calvary troopers defending against a horde of several dozen Indian (AKA Native American) braves while hiding behind the bodies of their dead horses. both troopers are firing and dozens of Indians are falling-slain by the fusillade of 4 revolvers. One trooper looks at the other and said DAMN I MISSED.

 

Lol, When younger I used to regularly get MAD Magazine. Given some of the anti gun rhetoric here, it can rival the humor of Mad Magazine.

Smith and Wesson 617-the revolver that dominates that division in steel shooting, is ten shots. a guy I shoot with developed a really great speed loader for them

 

Not familiar with that. I was thinking of the 19th century LeMat cavalry pistol; it held nine .36 or .42 rounds, with a second barrel (which the cylinder turned on) that could fire 20 or 28-gauge buckshot.
