Former BBC radio presenter admits sex attacks against underage girls Fri, 13/01/2012 - 17:50 Peter Rowell, a former BBC radio presenter has admitted a string of sex attacks against underage girls. In court on Friday the 13th January, Rowell, 53, admitted 12 counts of indecent assault, 6 counts of making indecent images and one count of possessing them. Rowell is listed in our October 2010 BBC roll of shame, which can be read again here. The sexual assaults - all on girls under the age of 16 - took place between 1989 and the early 1990s. Rowell, a BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Radio Somerset presenter denied one charge of rape against a girl aged under 16. There were 19 counts against him read at Bristol Crown Court, and he admitted possessing 464 indecent photographs, and of making indecent images - including a video. Some of the images have been classed as level four, the second most severe form. Police officers first arrested Rowell in April 2011 on suspicion of indecent assault and he was subsequently charged with a list of 24 sexual offences. Rowell will be sentenced on the 3rd March; he has been remanded in custody until then. At the time of his arrest, BBC Radio Bristol managing editor Tim Pemberton said Peter has worked for Radio Bristol for about a year now. His colleagues here respect and like him and the audience have responded very well to him. Responding to the news that Rowell has admitted his despicable offences, Nick Griffin MEP said the BBC was wrong to stand by Rowell in the first place. Had he been accused of making racist comments on a tram in Croydon he would have been sacked immediately. Still, at least they did throw him out in the end, so we will let them off, although of course they wouldnt do the same to any nationalist organisation which was in the same position.
What the (*)(*)(*)(*) has Jewish got to do with this? Not a mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ing thing. I like the BBC and (*)(*)(*)(*) happens. Though this is not something to be taken lightly.
