The constitution is an empty document.

Its the greatest document to ever create the foundation of a just society where the people rule their own destiny and the individual has freedom.

... so other countries that don't have a constitution like ours aren't fre with people able to rule their own destinies? Don't get me wrong, the constitution is great and all and has important purposes within our system, but I think some americans tend to be a little ethnocentric as they elevate the document to a god-like status.

I never said that. However, I do know that our nation has become the strongest and most prosperous thanks to the constitution.

The problem with other countries and their basis for government is that when they were created, they were created with certain limits on the citizen. In the US, we put limits on government so the people can be more free.

The bill of rights affirms our rights, instead of limits them.

The State only needs to ensure full faith and credit of any private act that is recorded as a public act.

Some would argue that the enumeration of rights has been more damaging by limiting protection to those enumerated, rather than being helpful. Other countries have similar systems and respects for fundamental rights without specific enumeration. As much damage as been done under the constitution in this country as in any other country. We have often been BEHIND other countries in terms of civil rights than many other modern democracies around the world. The constitution is great, again, don't get me wrong... but there is something far more profound and important at play in how these fundamental rights are recognized and realized.
